GOODBYE STEIN AND GOOD RIDDANCE, YOU NEVER DID ANYTHING GOOD FOR THE GAME
He actually did: making the iconic Cyber Dragon fusions playable and bringing in some excitement during the slowest formats that could become boring to play and watch. It’s sad Konami insists on releasing broken Fusion Monsters without a summoning restriction.
Half of the list is honestly terrible but expected from Konami. The Forbidden section is all scapegoat hits of satellites of the problematic cards, because they always tend to hit the older generic ones that could be useful in many decks in place of the new archetypes more busted stuff only usable in one deck. Instead of getting back some old generic banned things the current meta wouldn’t use, like some hand control, we get striped of the only one remaining.
The only good thing is getting Blaster and Denlong back (about time), but there’s still plenty of stuff restricted because of what I call the “Gladiator Beast effect”: Konami likes to forget about old good decks and doesn’t release their restricted cards even years after 90% people don’t care about them (Infernity Archfiend, Orcust Harp, etc.).
I’ve had a similar thought for years, konami does not want older decks to be even decent, shame really 99% of yugioh cards are unplayable and the errata on older cards now seems pointless because most don’t have the power of todays cards.

Not until Japan changes it, which it hasn’t.
Honestly not happy about this list. Crippling tier 2/3 decks was not the move to go for.
God knows what new horrors are loomikg in the next releases if the pattern of r&d and card design continues.
Honestly hope they start releasing docs publicly about theyr decisions they sometimes seem nonsensical.

Anyways, back to working on my 3+ player homebrew format. I need to finalize the Xyz monster line-up for my list of legal deck masters for this format, and then update my forbidden and limited list so that I can publish them both along side the finalized ruleset on YGOPRODECK.
