Strategic Summary:
Today’s profile features the Spright archetype, paired with a more casual Ojama sidepiece, since both archetypes include Colors in their monster names. The Spright archetype consists of Level 2 DARK and FIRE Thunder monsters, led by a Rank 2 Xyz and Link 2 boss monsters. Each of the Main Deck Spright monsters shares a condition to be able to be Special Summoned from the hand inherently, as long as you control a Level or Link 2 monster. Let’s talk about some of them. First up is Spright Blue, who, when Special Summoned, tutors any other Spright monster. This typically flows into Spright Jet, which tutors any Spright Spell/Trap when Special Summoned, but you can also go the opposite way by searching Spright Starter, a Quick-Play Spell that Special Summons a Spright from your Deck. Other great supporting options include Spright Smashers, to banish a Level/Rank/Link 2 monster and any card your opponent controls, or Spright Double Cross (YGOrg Translation), a Trap that targets any monster on the field or in either GY to Summon or gain control of it into your zone a Link 2 monster points to, or it can attach the target to a Rank 2 monster as material.
But this profile isn’t just about Spright, let’s talk about some BEASTS. The second theme today is the Ojamas, a theme known for their ability to summon ever so many Level 2 monsters. Ojama Red can Special Summon up to 4 Ojama monsters from your hand when Normal Summoned, which is great when paired with Ojamagic which can tutor an Ojama Black, Ojama Yellow, and Ojama Green when sent from the hand to the GY! Speaking of sending Ojama cards to the GY, we’re also running Ojamatch, which is used here to tutor any Ojama monster alongside Dark Armed Dragon, then Normal Summoning the Ojama. Once you pull off a Ojamagic combo, you can turn to Tri-Wight to summon your 3 Normal Ojamas back from the GY to participate in Xyz and Link shenanigans. Take Gigantic Spright for example, which summons any Level 2 monster from your Deck, or Spright Sprind (YGOrg Translation), which can bounce a monster on the field back to the hand when any other monster is Special Summoned. Take this competitive theme out for a casual spin with the Spright and the Ojamas!
