Winged Ra can finally command the respect it deserves!

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features the debut of the next cover theme, this time from the upcoming core set Immortal Phoenix, and this Sun God theme is designed around supporting The Winged Dragon of Ra. To kick things off, we have The Immortal Sun God (YGOrg Translation), a Quick-Play Spell that Special Summons a Ra monster from GY or Banishment, and if you summoning the OG, you can immediately send it to the GY to summon their Fusion Boss – The Sun God of Darkness – The Winged Dragon of Ra (YGOrg Translation)! This Divine-Beast Fusion is unaffected by cards and effects of course, can gain absurd amounts of ATK by paying LP down to 1 when it attacks, and it also carries a Quick Effect to discard any number of Sun God cards and select an equal number of occupied Monster Zones, forcing the opponent to send monsters in those Zones to the GY. This is quite an absurd boss monster, so let’s talk about the supporting cast that helps get you to this.
Turning to the peons of the Sun God theme, the primary starter is The Sun God’s Poet – Helpoemer (YGOrg Translation). This DARK Fiend can discard another card to Special Summon itself from hand, then on Summon it can tutor any Sun God Card and potentially discard a card from the opponent’s hand. Next is The Sun God’s Destructor – Makyura (YGOrg Translation), which sets a Sun God S/T when summoned or sent from hand/field to the GY. Then there’s The Sun God’s Torture Device – Viser Des Shock (YGOrg Translation), which can Special Summon itself from hand and spin a card on field back to the hand when a monster goes to the opponent’s GY. Finally the last is The Sun God’s Terror Machine – Gil Garth (YGOrg Translation), which can be Tributed to put a card in either GY on bottom of Deck. While all of these cards seem good enough in isolation, they also all share a final effect to return to hand during the End Phase of a turn which The Immortal Sun God was sent to the GY, which gives you up to 4 free monsters back to hand EVERY TURN. Yes, it is that absurd.
Alright, enough about the new Ra support cards, let’s now talk about how we make this theme work. First, I turned to a Fiendsmith engine, as it offers numerous combo routes that can be beneficial to your strategy, including a way to tutor your Helpoemer to kick off Sun God combos even if you only open Fiendsmith’s Tract or Fiendsmith Engraver. Besides that combo, the Fiendsmith engine also gives access to Unchained Soul of Rage and D/D/D Wave High King Caesar to empower your endboards beyond just Ra. Then, as you may have noticed, none of our Sun God cards really need to be Normal Summoned, so I’ve turned to filling that niche with Argostars – Glorious Adra and her trusty Continuous Traps. Not only does this work well because there is an in-theme Continuous Trap monster in The Sun God’s Protector – Egyptian God Slime (YGOrg Translation), but it also gives you another way to discard unnecessary cards with Argostars – Lightning Tydeu, or simply trigger your Makyura on command during the opponent’s turn! This deck channels the full might of The Winged Dragon of Ra – Immortal Phoenix, so hope you enjoy and respect these Dangers of the Divine!
