Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP shines the spotlight on the Unchained archetype, rather than just as an engine, now that it is newly empowered by the new support in RV01. Tying the new cards together is Reincarnation of the Unchained (YGOrg Translation), a new Continuous Spell that tutors Abomination’s Prison on activation, plus it can recycle up to 3 Unchained cards from your GY, before allowing you to destroy that many cards you control. This just ties a lot of the Unchained cards together well, allowing you to delay self-destruction until you are ready. On the other hand, Unchained Ogre Shma (YGOrg Translation) is their new intended Normal Summon in place of Tour Guide, as it summons a different Level 4 or lower Unchained on summon before destroying any card you control. Of course you can summon one that triggers on destruction like Unchained Twins – Rakea, giving you a free Unchained Twins – Sarama which leads into even more plays.

While Unchained Soul Lord of Yama remains the first LINK-2 of choice to summon, the new wave of support also included the new LINK-3 Unchained Soul Rage Abominator (YGOrg Translation), which lets you negate an opponent’s Special Summoned monster by destroying a Fiend you control, as well as Unchained Enma Lord Yama (YGOrg Translation), a new LINK-4 that summons up to 2 Fiend Monsters that were destroyed previously during the turn. Combine this with the tried and true Unchained Soul of Sharvara and Unchained Soul of Shyama, and you have all the tools to build a powerful endboard of Fiends, including your favorites like D/D/D Wave High King Caesar and Unchained Soul of Rage.

But that’s not all folks – with the help of a very small Umbral Horror engine, you can also add another option to your endboard – CXYz Chaos Barian Hope Dragon (YGOrg Translation). While the Unchained deck may not be able to run Thunder Dragon Colossus, this is one it can access via Number 104: Masquerade Vain (YGOrg Translation), and all it takes is a Gorgonic Umbral Horror (YGOrg Translation)… and this combo also happens to get you a free draw along the way with Shining Umbral Horror (YGOrg Translation)! Combine this engine with other Fiends like Diabrocken the Ominous Specter, Unchained Malevolent Magistrate Kamura (YGOrg Translation), and a miniature Fiendsmith engine, and you have everything you need to destroy the opponent.
