Excavate the sunken ruins of another world.

This past week has been full of news, and plenty of players are flocking to the market to buy up cards in order to prepare for some new support and themes releasing in Beyond the Brave, along with some suspicious cards from recent market sales. From the new Atlantis Theme, to Adamancipator support, along with plenty of other oddities, let’s dive in and see what is going on this week.

Find the Sunken Treasures and Gems

In Beyond the Brave, they have officially retrained the Daedalus Theme from Invasion of Chaos and the Fury from the Deep Structure Deck. This has caused older cards like Ocean Dragon Lord – Kaiyu-Shin to spike in price as one of, if not the best, floodgates to run in the Deck, along with the Sea Stealth cards. Ocean Dragon Lord forces both players to be only able to control 1 face-up non-WATER monster at a time, and if a player controls 2 or more, they must send monsters they control until they only have 1. This card is also extremely useful since it can also add a copy of Umi, a Kairyu-Shin Spell/Trap, or a Sea Stealth Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand once per turn, which is perfect for searching out cards like Rage of Kairyu-Shin for targeted removal of monsters your opponent controls equal to the number of WATER monsters you control who are Level 5 or higher.

This has also caused Fish Sonar to get bought out because of the number of new cards you can search with it. This new Atlantis theme consists of all of their Main Deck monsters mentioning “Umi,” as they become “Umi” while face-up on the field. The upside to this is that if you already have Umi on your field, you can Special Summon 1 WATER Normal Monster from your Deck, and this can help if you want to run the Primite engine in your Deck or have a Level 4 WATER monster, like 7 Colored Fish, to help you Xyz Summon into some of the WATER Rank 4s the game has to offer. Even with an alternate artwork slated to release later this year, possibly in Ultimate Tournament Pack 2, this card will be a main searcher for this new Atlantis Deck.

Admanacipator is finally receiving new support after 6 long years, and it’s absolutely fantastic to see. With a new Rock Tuner, a DARK Crystal Main Deck monster, and a new Level 10 DARK Synchro monster, this was completely what players predicted back in 2020 of what the next wave could’ve been, and it finally became a reality. This has caused players to look at some of the older cards, especially Adamancipator Researcher again, thanks to this support, and Magnet Warriors that were released from Blazing Dominion, causing the price to rise up once more. If you control a Rock Monster, even after Nibiru, the Primal Being, was put onto the board via the opponent, you can Special Summon Researcher from your hand. This card, along with Seeker and Analyzer, can excavate the top 5 cards of your Deck, and you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Rock monster from those cards, and the rest get put onto the bottom of the Deck in any order. With the new Adamancipator Conductor (YGOrganization Translation), this is easier to do since you can stack the top card of your Deck with a Rock monster you want to Summon, like the new Adamancipator Crystal – Tiamite (YGOrganization Translation). The best thing when stacking Tiamite to the top of your Deck is that if it is special summoned by the effect of an Adamancipator card, you can add any Adamancipator card from your Deck to your hand, and then you can Special Summon a Rock monster from your hand, which could be extremely useful for searching up Adamancipator Friends.

And speaking about Adamancipator Friends, the Secret Rare copy got wiped off the market because of this new support as it assists in the game plan Konami has made now for the Deck. This card excavates the top cards of your Deck equal to the number of Rock monsters you control + 5, and you add 1 excavated Rock monster with a Level equal to or lower than the number of cards excavated. The rest of the cards are placed onto the bottom of the Deck in any order, and it locks you into Rock monsters until the end of the turn. With the newer support, this card has become extremely important, as it can get to any of your Rocks when needed and restructure the bottom of your Deck for future excavations from the lower Level Tuner monsters.

It’s great to see Atlantis get brand new support as it brought nostalgia back to players, as many remember playing it as a cheap deck to run back in 2005-2007 or even playing it in the Nintendo DS World Championship games. Adamancipator players have long awaited new support, and it’s awesome to see this new wave to excite and make players worry about the future for what this Deck can put on the table.

    Masquerading Throughout the Market

It’s been over a few months now that Number 104: Masquerade has been hanging around the $4-$6 mark, and there are no signs of it going down yet. It has been used in many formats since its release in Judgement of the Light, from HAT and Clown Blade/Performage Performapal to even the modern day with Ryzeal and VSK9. During the Battle Phase, when your opponent activates a monster effect, you can quickly detach 1 material from this card to negate the activation and inflict 800 damage to your opponent. And it also has an effect that not many have used, as it can send the top card of your opponent’s Deck to the GY to remove potential threats from your opponent’s Deck

Cyber Slash Harpie Lady happens to be another card that is normally going to be higher in price due to the alleged “Waifu Tax” and can be a useful tech in the future Toon Deck post Revolution Booster. This card can be very easy to Synchro Summon, as you can use any Harpie monster you control as a Tuner, which makes Toon Harpie Lady a Tuner in some situations. While on the field or GY, this card becomes Harpie Lady, which is fine because of Elegant Egotist and many other Harpie cards, but the most important part of this card is that when a Spell/Trap is activated, you can quickly target 1 monster your opponent controls or a Harpie monster you control and return that card to the hand. This is great as a form of interruption and can come up in tight pinches, as you can Summon it again to use on the opponent’s playing Toons.

Rose Dragon has been a hot topic for players in Genesys ever since the release of Doom of Dimensions and the Legendary 5D’s Decks, and Bramble Rose Dragon hasn’t recovered much from it. This card burns your opponent for 600 damage each time they activate a monster effect, and if you do, all monsters your opponent controls lose 600 ATK. Being semi-generic also has its upsides, since you just need a Plant Tuner to Synchro Summon this card, and the best part is that it has a Quick Effect during the Main Phase to Special Summon 1 Black Rose Dragon from your Extra Deck, which is treated as a Synchro Summon, and that lets you use that Black Rose Dragon’s effect to blow up the board whenever needed. This card can also banish itself from your GY to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Plant Tuner from your GY, which can be used to Special Summon Princess Dracaena, the Thirsting Tree from Blazing Dominion, or Twilight Rose Black Knight from Doom of Dimensions.

Next week, we will be looking at plenty of surprising things that have been going on in the market, from Attack Guidance Armor and Magical Trick Mirror, plus many more cards that extremely need a reprint for collectors and past format players. This weekend is also the South American World Championship Qualifiers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and hopefully, we see players top with Decks from Dracotail, Lunalight, Elfnote, DoomZ, and Maliss, while I think that Kewl Tune or Branded will take another trophy this season. Good luck to everyone who is attending this event, and may the best Duelist win.
