    I’m just Starving for Fusions!

    Replays:

    Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another CDP, and this time we’re merging two Fusion themes into one strategy! Oh and before I get too deep into the weeds, this is yet another one of the decks I’ve been using at locals IRL recently, just with a slightly different build, so be sure to let me know if you have further suggested improvements. Alright let’s get into it by starting with the Predaplant archetype, a theme of DARK/Plant monsters whose wave in Blazing Dominion centered around leveraging Clear Wing Synchro Dragon as Fusion Material to bring out Starving Venom Wing Dragon. This combo got even better with Super Duper Polymerization, mainly due to the introduction of Fata Dragna to the TCG, which summons any Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck when it is used as Fusion Material. This is great in a build that Fusion Summons multiple times in a turn, and in here, it is used to get a free copy of The Fallen & The Virtuous by summoning Albion the Branded Dragon.

While those are key elements core to this build, that isn’t really why I’ve been loving the Predaplant deck so much – you see, it has insane innate consistency with so many one-card starters that lead into a full combo, that ultimately leads to a Starving Venom Predapower Fusion Dragon and Starving Venom Wing Dragon, with Predaprimitive waiting in the GY to destroy Wing Dragon, push it to the Pendulum Zone, then make your opponent cry if they rely on having monsters of any Level other than 1. Combine that with the ability to run a full playset of Super Polyermization to break boards, and you have a ton of innate power. So why not rachet that power up to eleven by adding yet another big-power Fusion engine?

That’s right, the Dracotail are up next, a theme of Spellcasters and Dragons that all love to be used as Fusion Material. With the introduction of Dracotail Shaulas, this theme developed a serious grind game if your OTK pressure falls short, and despite the sheer number of Limited cards still isn’t succeeding at holding it back. Also, don’t forget Dracotail Faimena’s Quick Effect to give you yet another way to Fusion Summon during either turn, so you can even add other power players to your Predaplant end board like Filia Regis or Dracotail Gulamel.
