Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features the return of the R.B. to my channel, in addition to serving as a great introduction to a subset of the new cards available in the Blazing Dominion core set that recently released to the TCG. Now that you’re back, let’s talk about what these EARTH Machines and friends add to the R.B. strategy, and first up we have Night Train Blue Traveler. This Level 10, if drawn, can be discarded to tutor a copy of Revolving Switchyard, but more importantly, from the GY it can Special Summon itself back with another EARTH Machine of your choice. While you can only use this effect once per Duel, that’s all it takes with the OTK power of the R.B. archetype. Next up in terms of core new cards, we have Exceptional Schedule, a new Spell Card that tutors Urgent Schedule on activation and gives your opponent a free Token so you can activate said Urgent Schedule. Much like my prior Orcust engine, this serves as a great on-ramp to R.B. combos, giving you the minimum 2 Machines to access R.B. VALCan Booster without even needing the Normal Summon! Finally, Convex Knight adds to the EARTH Machine arsenal with 500 DEF by being able to be Special Summoned from the hand, then it also can send any EARTH Machine from the Deck to the GY, setting up Night Train Blue plays if you don’t draw it!
In addition to these new Train Cards, the TCG release of BLZD also brought a few TCG World Premiere options that also align with the R.B. strategy. First up is Rustin Mammoth, a Level 5 that can readily Special Summon itself from the hand as well as bounce a card from each field back to the hand. This may not seem like much in isolation, but it pairs extremely well with the destruction R.B. naturally brings to table. Then we have Checkker, a new Level 4 EARTH Machine that can tribute itself to Special Summon any Machine with equal ATK/DEF from the deck, such as any of the R.B. monsters. It also has an effect to banish itself from the GY and Special Summon a Level 1 Token, giving you the perfect option to tribute with Clockwork Knight! From there, the R.B. strategy pretty much plays itself, giving you a solid blend of power and disruption, and allowing you to harness the pure might of these LINK Machines!
