Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and this time I’m trimming out the fat to streamline the Galaxy/Photon strategy now with all of their new LOCR support cards. Alright, now that you’re back, let’s talk about the new starter for the theme that makes streamlining so effective: Galaxy Defense Robot Orbital 7 (YGOrg Translation). This new Level 8 monster can be tributed from hand or field to tutor and send to the GY 1 Photon and 1 Galaxy monster each, plus it summons itself back from the GY whenever a Galaxy-Eyes monster is summoned to your field. In isolation, this may not seem like much, but this is an insane combo starter for a deck that can make full use of Photon Emperor being sent to GY while searching Galaxy Summoner, as that gets you 2 Level 8s, a Level 4, and your Normal Summon still to work with. From there, the world becomes your oyster, able to leverage Galaxy Soldier, Galaxy-Eyes Afterglow Dragon, and Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Primal as extenders, without losing a beat. Since most of these options also happen to Special Summon themselves, this really just keeps the deck running at light speed.

This is especially true once you factor in Galaxy Cleric, the other Level 4 Galaxy Spellcaster that shuffles 5 Photon and/or Galaxy cards back to the Deck to draw 2. This is absolutely amazing to top off a successful combo play, as this allows you to add to the typical Galaxy endboard with other powerful Trap Cards such as Dominus Spark (YGOrg Translation) or Dominus Purge, adding on to the in-theme option of Tachyon Transmigration. The final new card to highlight for the theme was Galaxy-Eyes Photon Change Dragon (YGOrg Translation), another new Level 8 option that serves as an in-theme Kaiju and disruptor, but more often than not, it’s just the ideal 4th Photon card that gives you a better chance to resolve a second Orbital 7 on your follow-up play. Unleash the Xyz domination of the Galaxy-Eyes, with this leaner and meaner take on the strategy!
