Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and this time we’re re-joining the circus with the help of the Clown Crew archetype, now that new support has been revealed. Now that you’re back, let’s start with the new cards. First things first, the theme has been the first to officially cover all Monster Card Types, as they received their very own Link and Pendulum Monster, Clown Crew Drish (YGOrg Translation) and Clown Crew Hat (YGOrg Translation). The Link monster may be a Link-2, not that it really matters since you’ll be summoning it ignoring its summoning conditions, but it grants your Tribute Summoned monsters a second attack each battle phase, plus it can force both players to mulligan their hands. This is perfect in tandem with all the free draws the deck affords you, allowing you to reset your hand and draw into as many hand traps as possible. On the other hand, their new Pendulum gives you a great starter that not only gets you to a copy of Clown Crew Biancoviso, but it also summons any non-Pendulum Clown Crew from your Deck or Extra Deck when tributed. To meet both criteria at once, all you need to do is send Clown Crew “Finale” (YGOrg Translation) to the GY with its Pendulum Effect, since that can both tutor and Tribute!

Now you may be thinking – is this really enough? And let me raise you one powerful tech option: Northern Cross Fire (YGOrg Translation). This Trap Card lets you tutor any Level 10 monster, as long as the total Levels you control is 10 or higher… in other words, all you need is Biancoviso and either the Synchro, Fusion, or Pendulum Clown Crew – that’s all it takes! Why is Level 10 important? Well there’s three great Level 10 floodgate options to mess with the opponent. First, you have The Wicked Avatar, as once it is Normal Summoned, your opponent cannot activate S/T Cards for 2 of their turns. Second, you have Floowandereeze & Empen, which turns off the effects of Attack Position monsters that were Special Summoned. Third, there’s Master Peace, the True Dracoverlord, which offers a Quick Effect negate. Altogether, this trio adds more oompf to the oodles of cards you’ll be drawing off of Clown Crew “Matinee” (YGOrg Translation), especially if you leverage the dual-Monster Card Type nature of Patissciel Couverture accessed through the Nouvelles engine. With that, I hope you enjoy clowning around with the crew, and catch you next time with more hybrid action!
