Welcome back to today’s Creative Deck Profile, and this week we’re shining a spotlight on the upcoming DOOD set by using new cards in a few cool ways. First up is the inspiration for this build, Fleeting Flower of the Magician, which is a Quick-Play Spell that will mostly be used to destroy a S/T you control, then recover an Equip or Continuous Spell. In this build, this synergizes perfectly with Cursed Bamboo Sword, an Equip Spell that wants to be cycled in and out of the GY to grab more copies of Golden Bamboo Sword, a Pot of Greed for whenever you control a Bamboo Sword Equip Spell. The best combo with Flower is to first use Original Bamboo Sword to tutor your Cursed Bamboo, then destroy Cursed with Flower to recover Original, then you’ve gotten a Golden to hand and thinned your deck out of additional cards you don’t want to draw. On the other hand, Flower can also be used to recover a copy of Zoodiac Barrage, should the duel be dragging on.
Speaking of Barrage, let’s talk about the headlining archetype as they’ve gotten some big toys on the latest TCG F/L list. First up Zoodiac Drident, the original Detonator, is back at 1, and this deck can certainly use it to great effect, even to destroy your own cards like Zoodiac Ramram. This archetype’s defining trait is its ability to Xyz Summon a Zoodiac on top of any other Zoodiac monster, so all you need is one, which is also why Barrage is so powerful now that is back at 1 copy! The other thing that Zoodiac decks love to do nowadays is make Infinitrack Fortress Megaclops, and this build is no exception, but I also have a fun additional tech option in the new Jupiter the Power Patron of Destruction, since it can be Xyz Summoned using any monster with 3 or more Equip Cards. If you used an Xyz monster, it can quickly become a 6500 ATK direct attacker to close out games due to the other effect of Cursed Bamboo Sword!
Now what happens with all the extra cards you draw with the Bamboo Sword engine, but don’t need for your Zoodiac plays? Use the Dominus Traps to disrupt the opponent of course. Whether it is Dominus Impulse, Dominus Purge, Dominus Spiral, or Song of the Dominators, each packs quite a disruptive punch when used at the correct timing. While there are some Attribute conflicts when you use them from the hand, that’s simply a last resort if you have no other options to survive an opponent’s blitz! Quincy, I’m noticing a lot of recent decks aren’t making it into the Deck Archive. I’ve also seen a number of decks that end up in an archetype category, but only have like 1-2 cards of that archetype and doesn’t show off anything about said archetype.
I’m thinking the Deck Archive needs a revamp
Hi there! I have to update the archive manually and I haven’t had a chance to with everything going on, but at some point I hope to be able to do so or find a better system so that it isnt quite as manual…
Definitely on my radar, I’ve just been prioritizing building better decks lately over spending time on that detail. Unfortunately im just one person and only have so much time!
