CDP: R.B. Sky Striker, ft. DOOD Support

Unbridled power to The Brute Blues!

    Replays:

    Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features the return of the R.B. or Revol Bots archetype to my channel, and this time I’m showcasing all the new powertools available to the R.B. TCG World Premiere archetype. If you missed my first profile combining them with Cyber Dragon, check it out here: CDP: Revol Bots Cyber Dragon Cyberdark, ft. DUAD-TCG Support

Now that you’re back, let’s talk about the new cards. First up is R.B. GA10 Pile Bunker, a Level 8 that destroys itself and all cards the opponent controls when an attack is declared involving R.B. The Brute Blues when Linked. While this effect won’t come up all that often, it is key as the 4th R.B. monster that can readily Special Summon itself from the hand. The other new Main Deck tools are R.B. Lambda Blade, which mills an R.B. card when summoned and steals an opponent’s monster when Linked, and R.B. Lambda Cannon, which recovers an R.B. monster when summoned and steals a monster from the opponent’s hand and summons it to their board. In isolation, these don’t feel super great, but just watch the replays – you’ll see how they start to fit together.

Holding down the new support and bridging with the old one is the one new Spell of the bunch, R.B. Operation Test, which Special Summons a non-Link R.B. Monster from your GY on activation, then it can target any number of R.B.s, gain LP equal to their combined original ATK, return them all to hand, then Special Summon an R.B. from the hand. This may seem puzzling at first, but this is now your best way to trigger R.B. Funk Dock during your first turn, enabling access to all of your hopes and dreams. Moving onto the last few support cards, we have a new LINK-3 in R.B. Shepherd’s Crook, which can set an R.B. Trap Card during your turn as well as Special Summon a non-Link R.B. monster from the GY during the opponent’s, and two new R.B. Trap options in R.B. Next Phase, a monster negate, and R.B. Last Stand, which summons any R.B. monster you don’t already control from Deck, Extra Deck, or GY. These just add an extra je-ne-sais-quoi to an endboard, giving you more power going into the opponent’s turn.

Now that we’re through the new cards, let’s talk about the second theme that makes this actually quite good – a small Sky Striker engine. You see, just a single copy of Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! can lead to an epic R.B. endboard, primarily due to the fact that Pillar of the Future – Cyanos just prints free material for your Link Summons. There’s also no conflict here with the 1500 ATK restriction – the LINK-1 Sky Strikers all meet that criteria! Rounding out the build, I’ve included a bunch of key Spell tech options that help make Engage more likely to net you additional draws, in addition to a few EARTH Machines that synergize well with Clockwork Knight and Clockwork Night, such as Gizmek Uka, the Festive Fox of Fecundity. I personally think this may be my favorite tech option for the deck, since it can synergize with Lambda Cannon to put a monster on the opponent’s board, then use that to summon an extra R.B. from the deck when you trigger Funk Dock, since all of the R.B. monsters have the same ATK/DEF! Unleash the fury of your Dad’s favorite area in Home Depot, with the help of the R.B.!
