      Congratulations, Vanity’s Fiend. You’re the first LEGEND card in Rush Duel to be fully banned.

        And you’d think Dark Hole would be the first Legend to be banned: when the card came out in Rush Duels, it dominated the format so much that many called for its ban.

        Even Raiza had its moment of excessive dominance that made the Monster worthy of a ban.

      I’m surprised Light-Calling Griffore made it out of this banlist, as I feel like that Monster will be even more powerful (especially when BLS comes to Rush Duels)

      Sunset Rebirth also became the first Trap Card to be Semi-Limited in a Rush Duel’s Banlist (honestly, Shiny Shady is more worthy of being on Rush’s Banlist)

      Besides being the first Legend banned, I don’t recall Vanity’s Fiend being used much in the current Meta (many thought Rush’s Harpie would receive a ban for one of its cards)

        Its a preemptive ban. Vanity’s Fiend synergizes with the Monarch cards they’re releasing soon. So rather than everyone picking a non-monarch as their legend and it being an aggressive floodgate, they are taking it outback now instead of after.

      The second floodgate from OCG/TCG they have to ban (first was the FIRE barrier statue), and the third floodgate stuff they had to put on the banlist (Skysavior stuff was the other one).

      Will Konami learn from this? Heck no, lmao

        Due to Rush Duel doesn’t have a Main Phase 2, Floodgates can be much more problematic by stopping the game for any player to do stuff as much.

        I mean… many forget… but Gavin’s Deck is a Floodgate Deck (from Day 1 of Rush Duels)

        It’s just that it’s very slow by current standards (like Skysavior)

      MoBC got hit less than I thought. I imagined at least one more limit.

      I guess Konami learned their lesson to not make Ritual recovery cards so consistent. Nope.

        If I recall correctly, Vanity’s Fiend was abused in Rush Duels when Executie was at its peak (2023). It was used by several Decks to counter Executie, and the Executie Deck itself used Vanity’s Fiend against Mirror Matchups.

        Vanity’s Fiend was later used by Sevens Wonder Turbo to stop Sea Serpent’s Maximum Deck.

        Finally, Vanity’s Fiend’s last appearance in the Meta occurred in late 2023, where it was used in Gavin’s Deck + Skysavior to create the ultimate Floodgate Deck.

        From there, Vanity’s Fiend fell into obscurity for many Years and wasn’t spammed like it was that Year (Animagica uses Vanity’s Fiend in some Builds, but nothing you’d call broken)

        Dark Hole caused more of a stir at the time, and many players called for its Ban, as it was an unfair Legend Spell Card.
