With Time, the Ultimate Wizard always gets new support…

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features the return of the Dark Magician [DM] strategy, and boy has this gotten cool new tools since the last time I featured this type of deck. First up, let’s talk about the three new Deck-Build support cards, and I’m going to start with the powerful new Spell Card: The Gaze of Timaeus (YGOrg Translation). Gaze allows you to shuffle any single DM or DMG from your field or GY into the Deck and Fusion Summon a monster that mentions it as material. That’s right, you can now bring out The Dark Magicians, Master of Chaos, or Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon for virtually no loss in card advantage. You could also choose to bring out Timaeus the United Magidragon (YGOrg Translation), the new unaffected DM Fusion monster that gains 100 ATK for each Spell in the GYs and banishment, but that will typically just be for a game-ending smash. The other new card that helps tie this strategy together is Dark Magician of Destruction (YGOrg Translation), a Level 8 Fusion that can Special Summon itself by banishing any Level 6+ DARK Spellcaster as long as you’ve used a Spell Card/Effect earlier in the turn. This also tutors a card that mentions Dark Magician on summon, giving you access to the full toolbox of DM support cards!
These three new cards are good, but what brings this to the next level is their new Dark Magic Amulet (YGOrg Translation) support Trap Card, which can negate a monster effect chained to the activation of a card that mentions Dark Magician itself. Not only that, but it also can come back to your field at the paltry cost of 2500 LP, AND it can be activated the turn it is set by revealing any Spellcaster. This combination of effects ensures that your Dark Magician strategy is fragile no more, allowing you to focus on combos and building your best board. Throw in the new Dark Magician Girl the Magician’s Apprentice as well, and you have yet another monster that can double as Dark Magician Girl [DMG] in a pinch, giving you every reason to embrace Magicians’ Combination! With all of these new tools and the Shining Sarcophagus engine for even more control elements, this deck makes full use of Spells/Traps to overwhelm the opponent with what really matters – the Ties That Bind!
