Defense of the Temple? Nah, let’s go on Offense instead.

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP features yet another one of my IRL decklists, as we’re combining two of my favorite themes together into one competitive strategy. The Tombkeeper or Odion strategy aims to overwhelm the opponent with Trap cards. Apophis the Swamp Deity and Fists of the Unrivaled Tenyi negate cards, Statue of Anguish Pattern and Divine Serpent Apophis destroy cards, and Temple of the Kings turns Mystical Beast of Serket into a Naturia Exterio to prevent the opponent from playing the game. This might sound familiar – I’ve leveraged this strategy quite a bit before, but now, all of that is backed by a wickedly powerful Gem-Knight engine that just spams the board with additional monsters, material, and threats.
You see, Gem-Armadillo by itself turns into a full combo, setting up Gem-Knight Master Diamond Dispersion and Gem-Knight Hollowcore to negate an opponent’s effect, all while giving you a free Gallant Granite to tutor your Lord of the Heavenly Prison. Add in the additional Normal Summons offered by Gem-Knight Nepyrim and Gem-Knight Seraphantite, and you quickly will have the duel served to you on a silver platter. As I’ve discussed before on my channel, I’m a huge fan of incorporating Defense of the Temple in the Tombkeeper strategy to access Divine Scorpion Beast of Serket, but in here, I’ve taken it further by also including Dangers of the Divine and The Winged Dragon of Ra – there’s nothing quite like the threat of a Monster wipe, after the opponent gets through your monsters, that is still backed by a full backrow of Trap Cards. That’s the power of this deck, and as you’ll see in the replays, I’ve found great success with merging these strategies together as one!
