Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP revisits the Earthbound theme to showcase the archetype alongside the latest support cards for both them and the Red Dragon Archfiend subtheme. The Earthbound Prisoner subtheme consists of DARK Fiend monsters that aim to both Fusion and Synchro Summon their boss monsters. This can even be done simultaneously with the effect of Harmonic Synchro Fusion. The primary Tuner is Earthbound Prisoner Ground Keeper, which Special Summons another Level 5 or lower Earthbound monster when summoned while also protecting Earthbound monsters from being destroyed by battle or card effects while a card is in a Field Zone. For Field Spells, they have their own Earthbound Prison to grant an additional Normal Summon of an Earthbound monster, but I’m also running World Legacy Discovery since it is a Field that can be tutored by Ib the World Chalice Justiciar, a Level 5 Synchro Tuner. The win condition of the deck typically revolves around Earthbound Greater Linewalker, a Level 8 DARK Fiend that can Special Summon itself from the hand while you have a Synchro Monster on your field and in your GY. Secondly, it can tutor any Earthbound Immortal Monster, and lastly, when an Earthbound Immortal is Normal Summoned, it makes the opponent’s LP 3000. So let’s introduce the newest Earthbound Immortal and the inspiration for this build.
Earthbound Immortal Red Nova (YGOrg Translation) is a Level 12 monster that boasts 3500 ATK, and unlike the other Earthbound Immortals, it does not require a Field Spell. It also carries a Quick Effect while in the hand or GY, to send an Earthbound Immortal or Red Dragon Archfiend from your hand or field to the GY, then it Special Summons an Earthbound monster OR a copy of Red Nova Dragon from the Deck or Extra Deck. Either way, this adds much more consistency to the deck. Speaking of consistency, that’s where Red Dragon Archfiend’s supporting theme comes in! Between Crimson Gaia and Vision Resonator, this theme has a wide array of tools at its beck and call. Soul Fist (YGOrg Translation) is the newest tool, an Equip Spell that makes an equipped Red Dragon Archfiend unaffected by your opponent’s card effects while giving it absurd levels of ATK. On the other hand, Fiendish Golem provides disruption. In short, you have all the tools you’ll need. Embrace the Earthbound, with this updated version of the strategy!
