CDP: Performapal Vaylantz Pendulum, ft. Pendulum Witch

Strategic Summary:

Today’s CDP features the return of two Pendulum themes to my channel, in one unified combo strategy that uses the Spell & Trap Zone as a second hand from which you can Special Summon monsters. Starting with the Performapal, this theme runs tons of monsters of various Levels, and while their goal was to support Odd-Eyes boss monsters, they’re also quite good at making generic bosses. Their best quality is consistency: Performapal Monkeyboard gets to tutor a Level 4 or lower Performapal monster while in the Pend Zone, Performapal Skullcrobat Joker can tutor any on summon, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer can tutor 2 when Special Summoned by destroying cards you control, and Performapal Gentrude places a new Pendulum in your Pend Zone when destroyed. They also provide very easy access to Beyond the Pendulum, a LINK-2 to tutor whatever Pendulum monster you need, through Performapal Odd-Eyes Valet and Performapal Odd-Eyes Butler. Purists – don’t worry – I’m also keeping access to Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon through the effects of Performapal Odd-Eyes Dissolver.

As for the second half of the deck, we now come to the Vaylantz monsters. This theme centers around its dual Field Spells, Vaylantz World – Shinra Bansho and Vaylantz World – Konig Wissen, which can change your monsters between the Spell/Trap Zone and Monster Zone. They’re also key to unlocking the inherent Special Summoning of your Vaylantz monsters from the Pend Zone, such as Vaylantz Dominator Duke or Vaylantz Mad Marquess which can do so while Konig Wissen is on the field. At the end of the day, these Vaylantz offer even more free material for Link, Fusion, or Synchro Summons, as well as the nifty trick of removing an opponent’s threat from the board prior to committing to combos. The Vaylantz also have Fusion Monsters of their own, and I was really excited to finally get to run Arktos XII – Chronoschasm Vaylantz for the first time in a profile. This Level 12 EARTH/Fairy Pendulum Fusion can switch the locations of 2 monsters in your Main Monster Zone as a Quick Effect, triggering the effects of your Vaylantz monsters that activate when their location is changed. He can also trigger his own effect this way, destroying a card on the field for your trouble. Finally, this profile also happens to feature Pendulum Witch (YGOrg Translation), as yet one more way to destroy the cards in your Pendulum Zone, tutor the Level 4 Pendulums you need, and just serve as a great high-scale alongside the Vaylantz. Enjoy the zany column management potential of the Performapal and Vaylantz monsters, uniting as one army to win the War!
