The effect of the Geargia Promo for this month’s V-Jump has been revealed, and most of its stats!

The name we give it on DN: Geargiauger
Romanized OCG name: Geargi(a/u)ngrouer

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 Level 4 EARTH Machine-Type monster, except “Geargiauger”, from your Deck to your hand. If you activate this effect, you cannot declare an attack, nor Special Summon any monsters, except Machine-Type monsters, for the rest of this turn.

Why Geargi(a/u)ngrouer instead of Geargiangler?

Because of something called wasei-eigo – Japanese pseudo-Anglicisms. It’s name is a play on アングラ, a Japanese abbreviation for アンダーグランド (Underground).

If you’re looking for a less unwieldy name, consider using Geargiauger, but it’s most definitely not intended to be like an angler fish!
