● Target cards your opponent controls up to the number of LIGHT Warrior and Dragon Ritual Monsters you control; destroy them, also destroy this card.

What’s with all these fairies and dragons? Mystical Elf is the canon base form of Skull Guardian after all. Ok it was M-Warrior #1 at first but that was retconned OK.
Hold on it was M-warrior #1, M-warrior #2, and Kamakiriman originally. Makes sense that you need the third to get the scythes after all.

the OCG name (Law Guardian) and flavor text of this card in the video games suggest this monster is a personification of Justice, and it punishes wrongdoings and cheating.
it would have been cool if they used M-warrior 1 and 2, but let’s be honest here, they were probably filler monsters and makes as much sense as Saffira and Sauravis, probably they wanted to kill 3 birds with one stone and that’s it

It is evident Novox is the base form of Skull Guardian, especially after the reveal today that Novox’s name in the OCG is Law and the Continuous Spell features Novox sacrificing herself to summon the new SG retrain (while specifically mentioning both Novox and SG by name).. Novox’s Prayer is Law’s Prayer. Skull Guardian is Law Guardian, as in Law becoming the guardian or being Law’s guardian.
Novox is LIGHT Fairy because Sprite’s Blessing features only LIGHT Fairies in its artwork and takes place in the Hymn of Light.
this is some pretty cool support for a set of cards that i never thought would actually get an archetype. these cards read as really good cards, and while they are super good individually, i cant help but wish that we had an in archetype way to search the ritual spell. every card here is super good and plays super well. but i find it super frustrating that there is no way to search the ritual spell AND skull guardian in the same turn. Konami is super close in terms of making a super solid ritual archetype.

why chimera is successful? cause the new cards are retrains and give you the option to use old cards, but not force your to use them. I hope they keep making retrains, note that cards like blue eyes and dark magician and hungry burger does not need retrain cause they vanilla, maybe hungry burger can use alt art.

there’s a mistranslation on the Barrier, it says you need to have BOTH Novox and LIGHT Ritual Monster for the ① effect to apply not just one or the other
