Don’t expect a new Mega Monarch, much less a Wyrm Monster.
It’s a much better Boss Monster compared to Galaxy and Cyberse Mega Monarch. It’s very interesting that they’re adopting the OCG/TCG’s identity of not using the Extra Deck in Rush’s Monarchs.
Caius having a HOPT is to prevent it from being used in a cancer strategy like ThunderMelo did at the time.
Caius has a HOPT in Rush, presumably to avoid abuse as Monarchs have ample ways to recover their bosses. (Caius can also be recovered with Rocker.)
Unlike the other Rush Mega Monarchs, Lindorm requires you to have an empty Extra Deck, but in exchange its effect is stronger. Lindorm semi confirms a regular Monarch version, a corresponding Vassal, and backrow. The empty Extra Deck references the modern Monarch support.
Invasion power creeps the Deck’s preexisting recursion (the Vassals and Traps), since you don’t have to shuffle anything back or wait a turn to use it.
Caius has a Hard Once Per Turn (HOPT) clause in Rush. Seems like Konami is much more reprehensive with the possible loops that can happen with Monarchs if they don’t put a hard restriction on Caius. Especially when ThunderMelo was a thing back then, a deck is one of the catalysts on why Rush Duel now has a banlist since January 2023.
So, aside from Illusion (since it doesn’t exist in Rush) the Monarch types are in reverse release order?
Galaxy/Cyberse first, now Wyrm. The next one after that would be Psychic (if it is indeed a trend). And then, what, Machine?
If we’re going for OCG release order, it might actually be. Machines were out with Vol. 2, after all, which technically made it a “new Type” back when the game was first released in Japan.
