Quick rundown of the relevant information from the livestream that just unveiled the VRAINS World.
Predictably, Extra Monster Zones will be added. No word on how they interact with Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Pendulum Monsters.
Initial characters are Playmaker & Ai (as one character just like Yuma & Astral), Soulburner, and Go Onizuka. Their signature cards (i.e. those that get summon animations from the get-go) are “Decode Talker”, “Salamangreat Heat Leo”, and “Gouki The Great Ogre”. An animation for “Firewall Dragon” is already being prepared.
“Please watch, big brother… I won’t have to be protected anymore, now I will fight with my own power…!”
Blue Angel was teased at the end of the trailer, so she will likely get the first unlock event.
Masaaki Yano will also join the game as a Knight of Hanoi. He previously voiced Yujin Goha in Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS and several minor characters in VRAINS, such as Lightning’s early minion Boot.
The world will launch on the 28th.
Now for some Skills.
Storm Access
At the start of the Duel, add 1 “Decode Talker” and 1 “Firewall Dragon” to your Extra Deck.
Once per Duel, when you have 1000 LP or less, you can add 1 random “Code Talker” monster from the Data Storm to your Extra Deck.
Burning Draw
Once per Duel, from the 5th turn onwards, when you have 2300 LP o less, you can pay LP until you have 100 and add 1 card from the top of your Deck to your hand for every 1000 LP paid.
You need 10 or more “Salamangreat” cards in your Main Deck to use this Skill.
Fighting Spirit Avenger
Once per Duel, you can choose 1 “Gouki” or “Dinowrestler” monster in your Graveyard that was destroyed by battle. Send 1 “Gouki” or “Dinowrestler” monster with the same Level from your hand to the Graveyard and place the chosen monster on your field in Defense Position.
You need 10 or more “Gouki” and/or “Dinowrestler” cards in your Main Deck to use this Skill.
The first sets are Link Revolution (with “Decode Talker”, “Salamangreat Heat Leo”, “Cynet Mining”, and “Pot of Duality”), and Structure Deck EX: Cyberse Code (with “Encode Talker” and “Linkslayer”).
