Update #2: It was us, sort of. The Adblocker was coming from Admiral Adblock Analytics, a plugin installed on our site during GGRecon’s ownership of it, and we weren’t aware of the plugin being installed. Something out of our control of it however changed overnight with the script that it loads, leading to the issues early this morning.
We’ve uninstalled the plugin, and re-enabled ads again. I’d like to specifically clarify that this issue wasn’t a result of our new ad provider, though, we’re still happily taking feedback on our survey, if you’d like to still voice your opinion.
Update: We’ve disabled ads while we talk to our ad providers about what happened.
That is not us.
We did not intend this new anti-ad block tech, and will be looking into why it is happening. We do need ads to survive, but we would never be this malicious.

“Hmmm I do not have this problem, I just use firefox”
Half the page isn’t loading for me nlw
And this site is just unusable on mobile without adblocker. Ads take up so much of the screen.
Dan put out a survey where a question was asked about ad blockers and a few days later this happened – and you’re claiming it’s not intentional?
That was just 2 days ago, we couldn’t commit to such a drastic change so fast even if it was a positive one
Yes, this was absolutely unintentional. I only am just waking up and seeing all of this.
We switched ad providers back on the 21st and for the first couple weeks this wasn’t happening. The ads are done by a third party company (always have been since 2013) and we switch providers a lot due to different strategies and approaches. What happened to the userbase today is utterly unacceptable, and in response we haven’t just taken away that, we took away the ads entirely on the site until it’s fixed and addressed. I never want the ads to hinder the user experience, and one of my steadfast rules is that they never appear inside the content of the articles themselves, only on the sides and at the bottom etc, so you can always just read an article and not ever even look at the ads if you don’t want to.
What this weird admiral tool that’s apparently AI based did, was just a worse version of the #1 thing I’ve told them not to do, and so they’re gone unless they fix it.
I refuse to turn off adblockers. We all know that google, facebook/meta and other ad-serving services are doing disastrous job at keeping their services safe and I’m not risking clicking accidentally into something that will give my PC mega cancer.
Besides I’m not even from USA so most ads for cards markets etc here are useless for me.
By all means, please keep your adblocker on.
I am never against somebody using adblocker on this or any of my sites. We need the ads to survive, but I don’t need people who don’t want them loading in to be forced to deal with it, we have enough traffic that even with 60% of people using adblock we’re okay. I honestly don’t mind that you use it and encourage you to continue to do so if it makes your experience on the site better.
even if I turn my adblocker off on chrome I still cant read the new cards, have to go to microsoft edge and even then I rather not get a screen full of ads that might be malware
50% of the screen are adds on phone, stop wondering why addblocker is used, no question about needing adds but the amount on the site is too much to use it safe
Bring back the old layout for the home page.
Still working on this. We’ve got a new layout prepared and are just finalizing a couple things before it goes live. It definitely should be before the end of the year!
Yall get ads?
I’ve been getting some very invasive ads on mobile for a while now. I mean ones where it fully forwards my browser to a new page multiple times so I have to close the tab entirely to get rid of it.
This is unacceptable and I’ve forwarded it to the ad providers to see what we can do to combat this.
I think it was a McAfee ad if knowing that helps at all. The irony…
yes, you’re not being malicious as I need my ad blocker in order to not be flooded with ads on this website, and you go and hide away all of the card info I come here to get, thanks ygorg.
It still happened to me even after turning off adblocker, and even on my phone that doesn’t even have an adblocker.
Thank you for communicating this with us clearly.
thank you for communicating properly and acting quickly after the issue was brought up. Have an amazing day!
the ads are intrusive despite the claim. Especially that window no the bottom left corner of screen
Well, at least it’s fixed now!
adblocker has been disabled for this website (ygOrg) and ygoPedia.
wish me luck.
thank you for the contents
The moral of the story: just use Firefox
Why are some of y’all so quick to just not believe anything that the site owners say lol
