Impressive redux to them.
Wow the Serpent Night Dragon retrain’s 2nd effect isn’t once per turn!
Potential field wipe huh
Serpent Night Dragon is…. actually good ! I’m impressed ! Well the first effect. The 2nd is too situational to work even if it is not OPT at all.
The second effect is absolutely great. You can crash it against opponent’s larger monsters and for price of some lp clear their board. The first effect also works well with Lair of Darkness.
It’s overall very good card but I’m not sure if it’s enough for Lair decks or if there will be other place for it. Maybe single copy in Dragon Links?
in what world is the first effect in any way the good part of this card
@Phos – I mean, it turns into pretty valid removal in it’s own right under Lair of Darkness. I suppose which one is pretty subjective – second effect can easily clear the field but second effect is quicker, safer and nearly unavoidable spot removal that just needs a card on the field that you should be playing in deck with this Dragon.
Nice retrains, I can see these being fun in limited formats. And Firewing Pegasus might find its way into Side Decks as a time card.
lol I’m still thinking about the new rituals cuz they where the 1st thing I thought of when reading Serpent Night Dragon’s 1st effect.
Cool cards. Unless there’s a dark deck that likes to be tributed, Serpent Dragon won’t really matter that much and BP effect is a BP effect which is self explanatory of it’s usefulness.
Also, is it the first time we see an effect apply(Self Destruction Protection) before it resolves itself in a chain? Also an effect that only applies inside the chain order too.
Maybe DNA transplant with a hieratic deck?
Lair of Darkness, I guess?
mitsurugi is the only deck i could ever see serpent night dragon being used in but even then its ehhh
My first ever vanilla Serpent Night Dragon got a retrain and if this is really true, then that 2nd not being a HOPT is amazing!
God! we’ve just talked about Serpent Night Dragon last time lmao
These cards seem like set up or an experiment.
Where’s the 900 atk bonus against spellcasters? Having used Serpent Night Dragon as one of my oldest usernames of all time elsewhere I hope it becomes a full-fledged archetype like Holy Knight Dragon did.
Actually let’s take it further. Can’t be destroyed in battle by spellcasters, unaffected by spellcasters’ effects, system down spellcasters when summoned! Yeah! Maybe for the ritual version in another 26 years. At least there’s quite a few DARK dinos for a Ryuzaki (anime) character deck I guess.
Serpent Night is I’m assuming uhhh Lair support, somehow?
But man I’ve been batting for Firewing Pegasus and Flame Cerebrus to get retrains for years, good to see we’re halfway there
Pegasus monster is okay in certain decks while the night serpent retrain is kind of phenomenal. Easy SS condition and GREAT secondary not OPT effect
Wonder if serpent knight will get an archtype focus like starry knight starry dragon.
I believe that you could tribute an opponents monster for the special summon of Serpent Night Dragon under Lair of Darkness, if the summon effect starts a chain
HAZY FLAME SUPPORT LET’S GO
It brings a tear to my eye.
Serpent Night Dragon repeatedly ramming into a strong monster to clear the opponent’s monsters probably will run into targeting protection tool often to make it feasible, but it sounds like the kind of play that would be really fun against somebody who doesn’t expect it.
Lair and Hazy Flame support respectively even if unintentional
Hazy Flame brothers, rejoice.
I’d like to see a Ritual Version of Serpent Night Dragon :/
I’m waiting for the remake of dark master zorc and maybe a destinyboard support
This is how you make casual cards. I am utterly surprised konami actually did it.
Huh, I always thought Serpent Night Dragon would have an archetype around it, opposite to Starry Knights. Oh well.
There’s still a chance, duelist. Konami can def throw a curveball at us at any point in time & however many they want.
I’ve been waiting for a Chaos Emperor Dragon ritual deck ever since Black Luster Soldier got its own support. BLS rituals are EARTH so ChED rituals would finally make our first WIND ritual archetype.
@ScionStorm WIND is the usual EARTH counterpart, but since CED is shown using fire in the anime, and that is an attribute more closely associated with burn damage and armageddon, I think it’d better be the first FIRE Ritual Deck.
These are two you won’t have memento !
The fact you can tribute from hand is great. Tribute relinkuriboh draw 1 card for free and you get a free monster. And yes you go minus one buy relinkuriboh can banish itself in the gy to protect one monster so i think its fair
That’s a -0. The total number of cards on your hand + field did not decrease if you draw to replace the Tribute.
Hey finally Serpent Night has it’s remake… and is kinda fun. The second effects is one of thouse effects that you won’t probabilly use but is nice to have and is a generic dark deagon level 7 that tributes so is very usefull
Seiyaryu got a retrain and a whole deck. Since Serpent Night Dragon is basically the evil twin of Seiyaryu, I think that it deserves a deck as well.
Rush duels did seiyaru retrain. Not tcg. But hopefully Konami will consider that pipe dream as reality…
Same with custom.
@Dee Seiyaryu is the boss of Starry Nights bro.
This Night Dragon remake is very cool, pretty great to see it as something playable! The only thing we need now is a dinosaur version, so we can play it in Rex Raptor decks!
my best friend earns over 15k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. the potential with this is endless…,qoo.by/ylcagt
Do these effects reference anything?
Nope
The tribute is the soul of the wicked knight.
Custom has wind ritual archetypes. But if CHED or Armored Dragon also become wind ritual archetypes, and they def have potential too, think how it will affect the meta:
Perfectly balanced as all things should be 😂
since no one said this yet; I think pegasus will be amazing in chain burn
Cool but Alchemy Beasts when?
I hoe this isn’t gonna be the third core set in a row where OCG pretends Rituals don’t exist. :/
But of course, its important that we have 7 slots reserved for Links or Xyz. Or even 8 slots reserved for fusions like SUDA.
Whooo hazy flame support 2025 lets goooo
Yea, I thought the same when seeing Pegasus 😄
Thought it was Memento.
I always loved Serpent Night, even had a 1st ed MRL. I also love Firewing Pegasus and tried making a deck that uses it as a vanilla, kinda like Metalofoes. So happy about these retrains.
