“Which effects are negated by the effect of Zenet Cataract?”
Q: In the following cases, will my opponent's monster effect be negated by the effect of Zenet Cataract?
(A) I chose my opponent's center Main Monster Zone with the effect of Zenet Cataract, and my opponent activates a monster effect in their center Main Monster Zone, but that monster is no longer in the center Main Monster Zone when its effect resolves.
(B) My opponent activates a monster effect in their center Main Monster Zone, and I chain Zenet Cataract by choosing their center Main Monster Zone, but that monster is no longer in the center Main Monster Zone when its effect resolves.
(C) I chose my opponent's center Main Monster Zone with the effect of Zenet Cataract, and my opponent activates a monster effect in their rightmost Main Monster Zone, but that monster is in the center Main Monster Zone when its effect resolves.
A:
(A) & (B) It will be negated.
(C) It will not be negated.
When negating a monster effect with the effect of Zenet Cataract, refer to the placement of the monster from which it activated its effect. (It does not matter if the monster is in the chosen zone at the time its effect resolves.)
Also, if your opponent activates a monster effect, and the effect of Zenet Cataract is applied to the zone from which the monster activated its effect, that activated effect is negated. (It is not necessary for your opponent to activate their monster effect while the effect of Zenet Cataract has already been applied.)

“Can I activate the second effect of Clown Crew Dristy during the same turn I activated the effect of Droll & Lock Bird?”
Q:
(A) During a turn the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applying, can I activate the second effect of Clown Crew Dristy that activates if it is Tributed?
(B) If my opponent activates the second “●” effect of Clown Crew Dristy as Chain Link 1, but the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is activated and applied on the same Chain, how does it resolve?
A:
(A) You can select and activate the first “●” effect, but you cannot select and activate the second “●” effect.
(B) The effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applied first, so only the part of the effect that returns each player's hand to the Deck is applied, but they do not draw any cards.

“If a monster unaffected by activated effects is in a zone selected by Zenet Cataract, will that monster's activated effect be negated?”
Q: After the first effect of Zenet Cataract is applied, if the effect of Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Light and Darkness is activated in one of the selected zones, will its effect be negated?
A: It will be negated. When a monster's effect is negated by Zenet Cataract, the effect does not start a Chain, so it does not count as an activated effect.
Examples of monsters unaffected by activated effects include the following:
“Unaffected by your opponent's activated effects”
- Mediclius the Extraordinary Power Patron
- Faisan, Hunting Scout of the Deep Forest
- Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, the God-Surpassing Servant
- Black Chaos
- Expurrely Noir
- Psychic End Punisher
- Trickstar Bella Madonna
- Exstellarknight Constellar Ptolemy Ω7
- A “Fairy Tail” monster whose original Attribute is LIGHT, while the effect of Fairy Tail - Wiccat is applying.
- A “Melffy” monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, while the second effect of Melffy Playtime Surprise is applying.
- Red Dragon Archfiend, while the effect of King's Resonance is applying.
- Monsters Special Summoned by the second effect of Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon.
- A monster equipped with Soul Fist
- A FIRE Dragon monster, while the effect of Sangen Summoning is applying.
- A monster equipped with Starlit Papillon, while the effect of Forest of Lost Flowers is applying.
- A Dinosaur monster, while the effect of Miscellaneousaurus is applying.
“Unaffected by activated card effects, except "Virtual World" cards”
- Virtual World Tiger - Fufu
“Unaffected by your opponent's activated Spell/Trap effects”
- El Shaddoll Meshachrer
“Unaffected by your opponent's activated effects, unless they target this card”
- Magician of Dark Chaos - Black Chaos
- Black Luster Soldier - Soldier of Light and Darkness
- Underworld Goddess of the Closed World

“Can I equip Wonder Wand to Cielo, the Night Sky of Raise Moon - No More Bets! and activate its effect?”
Q: What happens if I activate Wonder Wand by targeting my Cielo, the Night Sky of Raise Moon - No More Bets!, whose effect makes it unaffected by card effects?
A: Wonder Wand is equipped to Cielo, the Night Sky of Raise Moon - No More Bets!, but the effect that increases the equipped monster's ATK by 500 is not applied.
Also, the effect to draw 2 cards can still be activated. If activated, send your Cielo, the Night Sky of Raise Moon - No More Bets! to the GY as cost, and draw 2 cards. (You can still send a monster unaffected by other cards' effects to the GY as a cost to activate another effect.)

“Can I activate Spell Card “Enemy Controller” and Tribute Summon The Great Gallant Bandit?”
Q: If I have no monsters in my Monster Zone, can I activate Spell Card “Enemy Controller”, apply its second “●” effect, and Tribute 2 of my opponent's monsters to Tribute Summon The Great Gallant Bandit? Also, can I Tribute the opponent's targeted monster and 1 monster from my hand to Tribute Summon The Great Gallant Bandit?
A: Neither is possible.
However, if you have 1 or more monsters in your Monster Zone, you can Tribute 1 of your opponent's monsters and 1 of your own monsters to Tribute Summon The Great Gallant Bandit.
Similarly, when Tribute Summoning The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode, you cannot activate Spell Card “Enemy Controller” and Tribute 3 of your opponent's monsters for the Tribute Summon. (You can Tribute Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode by Tributing 1 of your opponent's monsters and 2 monsters in your Monster Zone. In that case, The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode is Normal Summoned to your field.)

“Can I activate the effects of 2 or more copies of Super Critical on the same Chain?”
Q: There are 2 copies of Super Critical on my field and 1 Super Critical on my opponent's field. In this situation, if either player rolls a die with an effect and the result is 1, can that player activate the second effects of all 3 copies of Super Critical on the field?
A: They can activate the effects by forming a Chain in any order. The second effect of a single Super Critical cannot be activated more than once per Chain, but the effects of multiple copies of Super Critical can be activated on the same Chain.

“Can I activate Fifty Fifty? if I cannot add cards from my Deck to my hand?”
Q: Can I activate Fifty Fifty? if the effect of Droll & Lock Bird is applying and I cannot add cards from my Deck to my hand?
A: Yes, you can.
If you activate it and your opponent chooses the first “●”, reveal the card picked by your opponent. If it is a monster, Special Summon it. If it is a monster that cannot be Special Summoned, it returns to the Deck. Otherwise, banish it as per the effect.
If they chose the second “●” effect, reveal the card that was not picked by your opponent or banished. If it is a monster, send it to the GY instead of adding it to your hand. And once again, if it is not a monster, banish it.
In both cases, the remaining cards are returned to the Deck.

“What happens if a card's effect that places it in your Pendulum Zone is activated in the Monster Zone, but there are no longer any usable Pendulum Zones?”
Q: If I have an available Pendulum Zone, and I activate the effect of D/D/D Deviser King Deus Machinex during the Standby Phase that places it in my Pendulum Zone, what happens to D/D/D Deviser King Deus Machinex if another effect is activated on the same Chain so that I no longer have any available Pendulum Zones?
A: Since there are no longer any Pendulum Zones available to place a card in, D/D/D Deviser King Deus Machinex is added face-up to the Extra Deck from the Monster Zone.
Furthermore, if the effect of G.B. Hunter is applying, D/D/D Deviser King Deus Machinex is sent to the GY. If an effect that states “any card sent to the GY is banished instead” is applying, D/D/D Deviser King Deus Machinex is banished.
The same applies if you activate the following monster effects and there are no longer any available Pendulum Zones to place a card in when they resolve:
Ritual/Pendulum Monster
- Odd-Eyes Pendulumgraph Dragon (the part of the effect “negate that effect, then, if you placed this Ritual Summoned card in the Pendulum Zone, you can Special Summon 1 "Odd-Eyes" monster from your Extra Deck” is not applied.)
Fusion/Pendulum Monster
- Master Spirit Tech Force - Pendulum Ruler
Synchro/Pendulum Monster
- Plunder Patrollship Jord (the part of the effect “add it to your hand” is applied.)

“When my opponent activates Mind Shuffle, can I activate the effect of Gravekeeper's Watcher?”
Q: In the following situations, can I chain the effect of Gravekeeper's Watcher?
(A) When my opponent performs only the card activation of their Set Mind Shuffle.
(B) When my opponent activates their Set Mind Shuffle and simultaneously activates its first effect (“During either player's turn: You can add 1 monster that mentions "Light and Darkness Ritual" from your Deck to your hand, then discard 1 card”) as part of the same Chain Link.
(C) When my opponent activates the first effect of their Mind Shuffle that is already face-up on the field.
A:
(A) & (C) It cannot be activated.
(B) It can be activated.
The effect of Gravekeeper's Watcher can be activated when the opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card or a monster effect that makes your opponent discard a card, from the perspective of the player with Gravekeeper's Watcher in their hand. It cannot be chained to the effect of a Spell/Trap that is already face-up on the field, or to a Spell/Trap effect that activates in the GY.
As examples, you can chain Gravekeeper's Watcher when your opponent activates the following effects:
Monster effects
- Inferno of the Sacred Beasts - Uria, Lord of Searing Flames (first effect)
- Calamity of the Sacred Beasts - Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder (first effect)
- Infinity of the Sacred Beasts - Raviel, Lord of Phantasms (first effect)

(A) Sending a Monster Card treated as a Continuous Trap Card by the effect of Enigmaster Packbit.

“Can I activate Mind Mirror Force while the effect of Trirealm Rift Territory - Valvols is applying?”
Q: The effect of my opponent's Trirealm Rift Territory - Valvols (“While you control a Level 5 or higher "Trirealm Rift" monster and you have no cards in your Deck, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects during your turn”) is applying. In this situation, if my opponent controls 5 or more face-up cards, can I activate Mind Mirror Force?
A: No, you cannot. The effect of Trirealm Rift Territory - Valvols is not one that negates activations or effects. Cards and effects cannot be activated while this effect is applying. (Note that Continuous Spells, Continuous Traps, Field Spells, and Equip Spells that do not apply any effect when resolving their activation also cannot be activated.)

“If a monster that can attack while in Defense Position attacks a monster with higher ATK, does the player take battle damage equal to the difference?”
Q: If my Ancient Fairy Life Dragon (3300 DEF) applies its effect and attacks an Attack Position monster with 3500 ATK, while in face-up Defense Position, what happens?
A: You take 200 battle damage, and your Ancient Fairy Life Dragon is destroyed by battle.
Even if you attack with a monster in face-up Defense Position and apply its DEF for damage calculation, the controller of the monster with the lower value will take battle damage equal to the difference.
If there is a difference between your monster's DEF and their monster's ATK, the monster with the lower value is destroyed by battle; if values are equal, then both monsters are destroyed by battle. (The same is true when applying your monster's ATK for damage calculation.)
This applies to the following monsters that can attack while in face-up Defense Position:
- Scareclaw Kashtira
- Invoked Cocytus
- Total Defense Shogun
- Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo
- Superheavy Samurai Ogre Shutendoji
- Superheavy Samurai General Jade
- Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyubi
- Superheavy Samurai Swordmaster Musashi

“Can Tokens be equipped as Equip Cards, or placed in the Spell & Trap Zone as Continuous Spell Cards?”
Q: Can I activate the following effects targeting a Primal Being Token that was Special Summoned by the effect of my Nibiru, the Primal Being?
(A) The first effect of Relinquished Anima.
(B) The first effect of Snake-Eyes Doomed Dragon.
A:
(A) Yes, you can. The Primal Being Token is placed in your Spell & Trap Zone.
(B) Yes, you can. In that case, since you are the owner of the Primal Being Token, it is placed in your Spell & Trap Zone.
In either case, the player who activated the effect of Relinquished Anima or Snake-Eyes Doomed Dragon chooses which zone to place the Primal Being Token.
The same applies when equipping Tokens or treating them as Continuous Spell Cards by the following effects:
Effects that equip monsters as Equip Cards
- Relinquished
- Thousand-Eyes Restrict
- Nightmare-Eyes Restrict
- Transforming Sphere
- The Atmosphere
- Destiny HERO - Plasma
- Vampire Vamp
Effects that treat monsters as Continuous Spell Cards

“If Ib the World Chalice Justiciar is Synchro Summoned and then sent to the GY after becoming Xyz Material, can its second effect be activated?”
Q: If I Synchro Summon Ib the World Chalice Justiciar and then use it as Xyz Material to Xyz Summon another monster, then send it to the GY after becoming an Xyz Material, can I activate the effect that Special Summons a “World Chalice” monster from my Deck or GY?
A: The effect cannot be activated. The second effect of Ib the World Chalice Justiciar can be activated when the Synchro Summoned Ib the World Chalice Justiciar is sent to the GY. It cannot be activated if it is sent to the GY from somewhere other than the Monster Zone, such as after becoming an Xyz Material.
Similarly, the effects of the following monsters cannot be activated if they are sent to the GY after being used as Xyz Material:
Effects that activate “If this Tribute Summoned card is sent to the GY”:
- Motor Frenzy
Effects that activate “If this Ritual Summoned card is sent to the GY”:

“What happens if the effect of Cielo, the Night Sky of Raise Moon - No More Bets! is applied when the effect of Dark Magical Curtain or Mitsurugi Prayers resolves?”
Q: When my opponent resolves the effects of the following cards, what happens if I apply the effect of Cielo, the Night Sky of Raise Moon - No More Bets! (“When a card or effect activated by your opponent resolves that includes an effect that adds a card(s) from the Deck to the hand, you can make that effect become "Draw 1 card".”)?
(A) Dark Magical Curtain
(B) Mitsurugi Prayers
A: Both effects are changed to “Draw 1 card”, and none of the effects written in their own text are applied.
For example (A), the presence or absence of monsters in the Deck whose original names are Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl are not taken into account.
For example (B), when Mitsurugi Prayers is activated, the opponent is not informed which “●” effect(s) will be applied, so even if it was originally activated with the intent to only apply the effect “Take 800 damage, then you can Special Summon 1 "Mitsurugi" monster from your hand or GY, but it cannot attack directly”, it will be changed by the effect of Cielo, the Night Sky of Raise Moon - No More Bets!. (B) If I activate the effect of Relinquished the Wicked Eye of Illusion by Tributing 2 monsters, including Miracle Raven, can I activate the third effect of Miracle Raven after the current Chain resolves?
A:

Q: If I add Primrose the Twin Rikka Fairy to my hand with the effects of Rikka Glamour or Rikka June Moon, which were activated by Tributing a monster, can I activate the first effect of Primrose the Twin Rikka Fairy after the current Chain resolves?
A: Yes, you can. (You can activate it even if your hand is being revealed by an effect such as Mind Scan. You do not take into acocunt whether or not you originally had Primrose the Twin Rikka Fairy in your hand.

(A) Mystical Space Typhoon
(B) Spright Carrot

(C) It will not activate.

“If I activate the effects of The Dragon that Devours the Dogma or Lubellion the Searing Dragon, can I choose a face-down banished card?”
Q: If I activate the following effects, can I choose a face-down banished card?
(A) The effect of The Dragon that Devours the Dogma, which allows me to return up to 2 cards from either player's GY or banishment to the Deck.
(B) The effect of Lubellion the Searing Dragon, which Fusion Summons a Level 8 or lower Fusion Monster by returning monsters from my field, GY, or banishment to the Deck as materials.
A:
(A) Yes, you can. If an effect does not specify the type or characteristics of the banished card, you can choose cards that are banished face-down. In that case, you do not reveal the chosen cards to your opponent.
(B) No, you cannot. This is because the effect specifies the type or characteristics of the banished card.

In the following scenarios, do I have to apply the effect of Power of the Duelist during the End Phase that requires me to send all cards I control to the GY?
(A) I activated the effect of a LIGHT monster in my GY, but the activation of that effect was negated, and no other LIGHT monsters' effects were activated.
(B) I activated the effect of a LIGHT monster in my GY, but only the effect was negated, and no other LIGHT monsters' effects were activated.
A:
(A) Yes, you apply the effect during the End Phase.
(B) No, you do not apply the effect during the End Phase.
