“If a Toon Gemini Elf that was Summoned this turn is changed to face-down Defense Position and then Attack Position again, or temporarily banished, can it attack?”
Q: If Toon Gemini Elf is affected by its Continuous Effect that states “Cannot attack the turn it is Summoned”, can it attack if the following situations occur?

A:
(A) It cannot attack. (Even if it was changed to face-down Defense Position, it is still considered a monster that was Normal or Special Summoned this turn.)

The same applies to the following monsters:
Monsters that cannot attack the turn they are Summoned:
– Toon Harpie Lady

“Which effects are negated by the effect of Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror?”
Q: If the following situations occur and the effect of Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror is applying, will the activated effect of the monster be negated?
(A) If a DARK monster activated its effect in the Monster Zone, but has been sent to the GY, banished, placed in the Spell & Trap Zone, returned to the hand/Deck/Extra Deck, or changed to face-down Defense Position by the time its effect resolves.
(B) If an EARTH monster treated as a DARK monster by the effect of DNA Transplant activated its effect in the Monster Zone, but has been sent to the GY, banished, placed in the Spell & Trap Zone, returned to the hand/Deck/Extra Deck, or changed to face-down Defense Position by the time its effect resolves.
(C) If an EARTH monster activated its effect in the Monster Zone, but the effect of DNA Transplant that was activated on the same Chain is applying by the time its effect resolves, and that EARTH monster in the Monster Zone becomes a DARK monster.
(D) If a DARK monster activated its effect in the GY, but is no longer in the GY when its effect resolves.
A:
(A), (C) & (D) The effect is negated.
(B) If the monster has been sent to the GY, banished, placed in the Spell & Trap Zone, or returned to the hand/Deck/Extra Deck by the time its effect resolves, its effect is negated. If it has been changed to face-down Defense Position, its effect is not negated.
The same applies if the effect of a LIGHT monster is activated while the effect of Light-Imprisoning Mirror is applying.
NEW ENTRIES
“Can My Body as a Shield be chained to Dominus Purge or Dominus Impulse?”
Q: In the following situations, when my opponent activates Dominus Purge or Dominus Impulse, can I chain My Body as a Shield?
(A) If there are no Trap Cards in my opponent’s GY.
(B) If there is a Trap Card in my opponent’s GY and I had activated the effect of a Spell/Trap Card, a Pendulum Effect, or the effect of a Monster Card in my Spell & Trap Zone.
(C) If there is a Trap Card in my opponent’s GY and I had activated the effect of a monster in my Monster Zone by sending it to the GY, Tributing it, banishing it, or returning it to my hand/Deck/Extra Deck as cost.
(D) If there is a Trap Card in my opponent’s GY and I had activated the effect of Medius the Pure that activates when it is Normal or Special Summoned.
A: When your opponent activates Dominus Purge or Dominus Impulse, if the effect it was chained to is that of a monster in the Monster Zone, that monster is still in the Monster Zone, and your opponent has at least 1 Trap Card in their GY, its effect is considered one that will destroy a monster on the field, so you can chain My Body as a Shield.
(A), (B) & (C) It cannot be activated.
(D) It can be activated.
“Are monsters that are always treated as “Elemental HERO” cards also treated as “Elemental HERO” monsters?”
Q: Can Miracle Ejector or Winged Kuriboh LV6, which have text stating they are always treated as “Elemental HERO” cards, be added to the hand by the effect of E – Emergency Call?
A: Yes, they can.
A monster that is always treated as an “Elemental HERO” card is also considered an “Elemental HERO” monster. Also, since they are treated as “HERO” monsters, they can also be added to the hand by the effect of Elemental HERO Stratos that adds a “HERO” monster from the Deck to the hand.
The following are examples of monsters that are treated as having different card names:
– Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy
– Familiars of the Spiritual Arts
– Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo

“How many times per turn is a DoomZ XII End – Drastrius equipped with DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.” not destroyed by battle?”
Q: My DoomZ XII End – Drastrius is equipped with DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.”, and each of their effects that prevent it from being destroyed by battle once per turn are applying. If that DoomZ XII End – Drastrius battles an opponent’s monster with higher ATK, it will not be destroyed by battle the first time, but if it battles another monster with higher ATK that turn, will it be destroyed the second time?
A: It will be destroyed. In this case, the effects of DoomZ XII End – Drastrius and DoomZ Command “A.D.R.A.S.T.E.I.A.” are both applied during the first battle, so it will not be destroyed the first time, but it will be destroyed the second time. (It can also be destroyed by an effect the second time.)
“If I Tribute Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode to my opponent’s field while the effect of my Clown Clan Meteor is applying, can my opponent activate effects?”
Q: While the effect of my Clown Clan Meteor is applying, if I Tribute Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode to my opponent’s field, can my opponent activate card effects at that time?
A: No, they cannot.
The effect of Clown Clan Meteor applies when its controller Tribute Summons a monster to either player’s field.
The same applies to the second effect of Time-Tearing Morganite.
“When activating the first effect of Bayt’al-Hecahands, can I apply the effect of Lair of Darkness and Tribute an opponent’s monster?”
Q: If I control Lair of Darkness when I activate Bayt’al-Hecahands, can I apply the effect of Lair of Darkness and Tribute a monster my opponent controls that they own?
A: You can do this if your opponent controls at least 2 monsters, including a DARK monster that they own. If your opponent only controls 1 monster, you cannot apply the effect of Lair of Darkness when activating Bayt’al-Hecahands.
“What happens if Fidraulis Harmonia is not in my hand when its effect resolves?”
Q: If I activate the effect of Fidraulis Harmonia by revealing 6 monsters, and the activation/effect is not negated, what happens if the Fidraulis Harmonia that activated its effect is no longer in my hand due to another effect when the effect resolves?
A: It does not Special Summon itself, but the “● 4+” and “● 6” effects are applied normally.
“If the effect of Dimension Shifter is applying, can the effect of Fidraulis Harmonia be activated?”
Q: If the effect of a card such as Dimension Shifter is applying, so that any card sent to the GY is banished instead, can I activate the effect of Fidraulis Harmonia by revealing 6 monsters?
A: Yes, you can. If you do, Special Summon that Fidraulis Harmonia, then banish 1 of the revealed Synchro Monsters, then destroy 1 monster your opponent controls.
“Can I activate the first effect of Gimmick Puppet Fantasix Machinix during a turn I Normal Summoned using an effect that Normal Summons in addition to my Normal Summon/Set?”
Q: If I applied the effect of Mausoleum of White or Scrap Raptor to Normal Summon a monster in addition to my Normal Summon/Set, can I activate the first effect of Gimmick Puppet Fantasix Machinix?
A: No, you cannot.
If you apply an effect that Normal Summons in addition to your Normal Summon/Set, you cannot apply any other effects that Normal Summon in addition to your Normal Summon/Set that turn.
Also, if you have already applied the effect of Gimmick Puppet Fantasix Machinix to Normal Summon a Machine monster this turn, you cannot apply the first effect of Mausoleum of White, and you cannot activate the first effect of Scrap Raptor.
Examples of other effects that Normal Summon in addition to your Normal Summon/Set include the following:
Monster effects
– Nikitama
– Swap Frog
– Yosenju Kodam
– Atlantean Heavy Infantry
– Legion the Fiend Jester
– Dverg of the Nordic Alfar
– Gem-Knight Seraphinite
– Knightmare Goblin
– Laval Archer
– Synchron Carrier
Symphonic Warrior Miccs
Spell effects
– Catalyst Field
– Ancient Chant
– Laser Qlip
– Brain Research Lab
– Vampire’s Domain
– Synchro Fellowship
“If a “Sky Striker Ace” Link Monster treated as “Fairy Prince” is destroyed by battle or leaves the field by an opponent’s card effect, can the second effect of Sky Striker Ace – Raye be activated?”
Q: If my “Sky Striker Ace” Link Monster, whose name is treated as “Fairy Prince” due to the effect of my opponent’s Fairy Tail – Matchlille, is destroyed by battle or leaves the field by an opponent’s card effect, can I activate the second effect of Sky Striker Ace – Raye?
A: You cannot activate that effect. The second effect of Sky Striker Ace – Raye can only be activated if a Link Monster in your Monster Zone with “Sky Striker Ace” in its name is destroyed by battle or leaves the field by an opponent’s card effect.
This also applies if the name of your “Sky Striker Ace” Link Monster has been changed by any of the following effects:
– Weaver of Fairy Tail Tales
– Hero Mask
– Flash of Heraldry
– Number 69: Heraldry Crest – Dark Matter Demolition
“When the second effect of a Cyberse Code Magician that has not been Ritual Summoned is activated, can I activate an effect that can be chained to ‘an effect that includes Special Summons’?”
Q: When the second effect of a Cyberse Code Magician that has not been Ritual Summoned is activated, the part of the effect “if this Ritual Summoned card was sent to the GY, you can Special Summon that monster instead” cannot be applied, but can I still chain Dominus Impulse?
A: No, you cannot.
The following effects also cannot be chained:
– Tearlaments Rulkallos
– D/D/D Wave High King Caesar
– Ekto Enneacraft – “tromarIA”
– Solemn Warning
– Derk, Longing for the Blue Skies
– Branded Retribution
“Please explain how to resolve Dark Magical Curtain.”
Q: When I activate Dark Magical Curtain during my opponent’s turn, how is the effect resolved?
A: First, your opponent (the turn player) decided whether or not to Special Summon a monster. If your opponent Special Summons a monster, once that Special Summon is successful, you decide whether or not to Special Summon a monster. (If both players Special Summon, both monsters are considered to be Special Summoned simultaneously.)
Afterward, if you (the player who activated Dark Magical Curtain) Special Summoned a monster whose original card name is Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl, you (and only you) can choose whether or not to add a Spell/Trap Card that mentions the card name “Dark Magician” from your Deck to your hand. (Even if your opponent Special Summoned a monster whose original card name is Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl, they cannot apply this part of the effect.)
“Can I activate Dark Magical Curtain if I cannot Special Summon monsters?”
Q:
(A) If the Continuous Effect of Vanity’s Fiend is applying and neither player can Special Summon monsters, can I activate Dark Magical Curtain?
(B) If my opponent activated Pot of Duality this turn so that only they cannot Special Summon monsters, can I activate Dark Magical Curtain?
(C) If I activated Pot of Duality this turn so that only I cannot Special Summon monsters, can I activate Dark Magical Curtain?
A:
(A) You cannot activate it.
(B) You can activate it if you have a DARK Spellcaster monster in your hand/Deck that can be Special Summoned.
(C) You can activate it if your opponent has at least 1 card in their hand/Deck.
“If Assault Blackwing – Kusanagi the Gathering Storm is Special Summoned by the effect of Blackwing – Twin Shadow, does it gain ATK from its own effect?”
Q: I activated Blackwing – Twin Shadow by returning a “Blackwing” Synchro Monster from my GY to my Extra Deck, and Special Summoned Assault Blackwing – Kusanagi the Gathering Storm from my Extra Deck (treated as a Synchro Summon). In this case, does Assault Blackwing – Kusanagi the Gathering Storm gain ATK from its own effect?
A: No, it does not. Monsters returned to the Deck or Extra Deck as cost to activate Blackwing – Twin Shadow are not treated as Synchro Materials.
“If I only control 1 monster, can I activate the second effect of Synchro Emergency and Synchro Summon using the monster I control and a Scrap Synchron in my hand?”
Q: If I only control a Level 4 monster, have Scrap Synchron in my hand, and have a Level 5 Synchro Monster in my Extra Deck that mentions a “Synchron” Tuner as material, can I activate the second effect of Synchro Emergency and perform a Synchro Summon using the monster I control and the Scrap Synchron in my hand?
A: Yes, you can.
As a general rule, you can activate the second effect of Synchro Emergency as long as you have the correct combination of Synchro Materials and a Synchro Monster you are able to Synchro Summon.
Even if you only control 1 monster, in your situation you are able to perform a Synchro Summon using a monster in your hand as material, so this counts as having the correct combination of Synchro Materials and a Synchro Monster you are able to Synchro Summon.
Even if you only control 1 monster, you can also still activate the second effect of Synchro Emergency as long as you can perform a Synchro Summon using the written methods or effects of the following cards:
“If this card on the field would be used as Synchro Material, 1 Tuner in your hand can be used as 1 of the other materials”
– Kewl Tune Reco
– Kewl Tune Cue
– Kewl Tune Track Maker
– Kewl Tune Rotary
– Kewl Tune Clip
– Kewl Tune Mix
“If this Synchro Summoned monster would be used as Synchro Material, 1 monster in your hand can be used as 1 of the other materials”
– Tatsunoko
“If this Normal Summoned/Set monster would be used as Synchro Material, 1 monster in your hand can be used as 1 of the other materials”
– Tatsunecro
“If you Synchro Summon a “Power Tool” monster or a Level 7 or 8 Dragon monster, this card in your hand can also be used as material”
– Revolution Synchron
“If I Special Summoned Dark Magician, the Pharaoh’s Servant with the effect of Dark Magical Curtain, can I also add a Spell/Trap Card that mentions “Dark Magician” from my Deck to my hand?”
Q: If I activate Dark Magical Curtain and use its effect to Special Summon Dark Magician, the Pharaoh’s Servant, its name will become “Dark Magician” due to its own Continuous Effect. However, can I still apply the part of the effect that adds a Spell/Trap Card that mentions “Dark Magician” from my Deck to my hand?
A: No, you cannot. (The original card name of Dark Magician, the Pharaoh’s Servant is not Dark Magician.)
Similarly, if you Special Summoned the following monsters with the effect of your Dark Magical Curtain, you cannot add a Spell/Trap Card to your hand:
– Dark Magician the Magician of Black Magic
– Magician of Dark Illusion
