Spell/Trap-to-monster shenanigans.
“If an opponent’s monster that I took control of with the effect of Borreload Dragon is banished by the effect of Interdimensional Matter Transporter, what happens during the End Phase?”
Q: I took control of my opponent’s Firewall Dragon with the third effect of Borreload Dragon. In this situation, if I activate Interdimensional Matter Transporter during the Main Phase of the next turn and banish that Firewall Dragon, what happens to it during that End Phase?
A: The banished Firewall Dragon returns to your Main Monster Zone. No further action is applied (control is not returned nor is it sent to the Graveyard).
Note: This one is a reversal. Previously the monster would return immediately, as with effects that temporarily take control of monsters.
“Can I Xyz Summon Number 21: Frozen Lady Justice using Xyz Armor Fortress that only has 1 Xyz Material?”
Q: Xyz Armor Fortress has text that states “This card with material cannot be used as material for an Xyz Summon”, but can I Xyz Summon Number 21: Frozen Lady Justice by its own procedure, “You can also Xyz Summon this card by detaching 1 Xyz Material from a Rank 5 Xyz Monster you control, then using that Xyz Monster as the Xyz Material”, using Xyz Armor Fortress with 1 Xyz Material?
A: No, you cannot.
“When Raigeki Break is activated targeting a Set The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine, what happens if I chain and activate The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine?”
Q: My opponent activated Raigeki Break, targeting The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine Set in my Spell & Trap Zone. If I chain and activate The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine, how does Raigeki Break resolve?
A: In this scenario, The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine is Special Summoned when its effect resolves. At that point, it is no longer treated as a Trap Card, and is no longer treated as the card targeted by Raigeki Break. As such, the effect of Raigeki Break is not applied.
The same applies to the following Trap Cards with effects that Special Summon them as monsters (and are no longer treated as Trap Cards).
– Qlife’s End
– The Phantom Knights of Lost Vambrace
– The Phantom Knights of Tomb Shield
– The Phantom Knights of Wrong Magnetring
– Traptrix Holeutea
“When Raigeki Break is activated targeting a Set Conquistador of the Golden Land, what happens if I chain and activate that Conquistador of the Golden Land?”
Q: My opponent activated Raigeki Break, targeting a Conquistador of the Golden Land Set in my Spell & Trap Zone. If I chain and activate that Conquistador of the Golden Land, how does Raigeki Break resolve?
A: First, resolve the effect of Conquistador of the Golden Land, “Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (Zombie/LIGHT/Level 5/ATK 500/DEF 1800) (this card is also still a Trap), then, if you control “Eldlich the Golden Lord”, you can destroy 1 face-up card on the field.” After that, the Conquistador of the Golden Land in your Monster Zone is destroyed by the effect of Raigeki Break. (Since it is still treated as a Trap Card after being Special Summoned, it is still treated as the card targeted by Raigeki Break after being Special Summoned.)
The same applies to the following Trap Cards with effects that Special Summon them as monsters (and are still treated as Trap Cards).
– Abyss Stungray
– Altergeist Emulatelf
– Angel Statue – Azurune
– Apophis the Swamp Deity
– Copy Knight
– Crusadia Krawler
– Cyber Shadow Gardna
– Dimension Reflector
– Dwimmered Glimmer
– Embodiment of Apophis
– Guardian of the Golden Land
– Huaquero of the Golden Land
– King Scarlet
– Krystal Avatar
– Machine King – 3000 B.C.
– Metal Reflect Slime
– Metalhold the Moving Blockade
– Metamorphortress
– Powerhold the Moving Battery
– Quantum Cat
– Shaddoll Core
– Shapesister
– Space Dragster
– Statue of Anguish Pattern
– Stronghold the Moving Fortress
– Swamp Mirrorer
– The Door of Destiny
– The First Monarch
– Tiki Curse
– Tiki Soul
– Zoma the Spirit
“If I activate the effect of Baronne de Fleur targeting a Monster Card in the Spell & Trap Zone, but the targeted card has been Special Summoned by the time the effect resolves, what happens?”
Q: When I activate the first effect of Baronne de Fleur, targeting a Centurion Primera treated as a Continuous Trap Card, the effect of that Centurion Primera that Special Summons it is chained. As a result, if Centurion Primera has been Special Summoned to a Monster Zone by the time the effect of Baronne de Fleur resolves, what happens?
A: No action is taken. When the effect of Centurion Primera resolves, it changes from a Continuous Trap Card to a monster (and is no longer treated as a Trap). At that point, it is no longer treated as the card targeted by the effect of Baronne de Fleur.
The same applies when Special Summoning the following cards treated as Continuous Trap Cards.
– Centurion Emet VI
– Centurion Trudea
– Vision HERO Increase
– Vision HERO Minimum Ray
– Vision HERO Multiply Guy
– Vision HERO Poisoner
“If the effect of Memento Cranium Burst is applied when an attack is declared, what happens to that attack?”
Q: My opponent’s monster declares an attack on my Sheep Token while it and Mementoral Tecuhtlica, the Netherskull Dragon are in my Monster Zone. When the attack is declared, if I activate Memento Cranium Burst and its effect is applied, what happens to the attack?
A: The attacking monster can no longer attack the Sheep Token, causing a replay. The attacking monster will target Mementoral Tecuhtlica, the Netherskull Dragon for its attack. (The attack cannot be canceled because the effect “your opponent’s monsters that can attack must attack” is applying.)
