“What happens if Skill Drain is applied to an Infernoid Decatron that gained another monster’s name and effects with its own effect?”
Q: I activated the effect of Infernoid Decatron, and it gained the name and effects of Infernoid Attondel and its Level increased by 8. If the effects of that Infernoid Decatron are negated by Skill Drain afterward, what happens to its applied effect?
A: The Level of Infernoid Decatron returns to normal, but its name remains “Infernoid Attondel”.
Also, it will still have the effects of Infernoid Attondel, but those gained effects will be negated by Skill Drain. (If the effect that allows it to attack a second time is activated, it will be negated. Also, if you activate the effect that banishes a card from your opponent’s GY by Tributing a different monster, it will be negated, but if you activate that effect by Tributing Infernoid Decatron itself, it will not be negated by Skill Drain.)
Similarly, the following monsters will retain the gained original names if their effects are negated after being applied.
– Performapal Bot-Eyes Lizard
– Crystal Rose
– Genex Spare
– Genex Recycled
“How do I choose a monster “that was destroyed this turn” with the effect of Astrograph Sorcerer in my hand?”
Q: When resolving the effect of Astrograph Sorcerer in my hand, how can I choose a monster “that was destroyed this turn”?
A: When applying the effect of Astrograph Sorcerer, choose 1 monster from among the following:
● A monster in either player’s GY that was destroyed and sent to the GY this turn.
● Either player’s monster that is banished face-up, and was destroyed and banished this turn.
● Either player’s monster that is banished face-up, and was destroyed and sent to the GY this turn, and then banished face-up from the GY.
● A face-up Pendulum Monster in either player’s Extra Deck that was destroyed and added face-up to the Extra Deck this turn.
As an example, if a Pendulum Monster that was destroyed and added face-up to the Extra Deck was then Pendulum Summoned and returned to the Extra Deck again after being used as Link Material, you cannot choose that monster. Once the monster has been Pendulum Summoned, it is no longer treated as a monster that was destroyed that turn.
“Can I Special Summon Sauravis, the Sagely Silenforcer Dragon with its own effect while the effect of Necrovalley is applying?”
Q: If the effect of Necrovalley is applying, can I Special Summon Sauravis, the Sagely Silenforcer Dragon from my hand using its own effect by returning cards from my GY to the Deck?
A: Yes, you can.
“If a Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon I control leaves the field due to my opponent’s Normal/Special Summoning procedure, can I activate its last effect?”
Q: While I control a Fusion Summoned Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon, my opponent Tributes that Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon to Special Summon Gadarla, the Mystery Dust Kaiju to my field. In this case, can I activate the effect of Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon that destroys all monsters my opponent controls during the End Phase?
Also, when my opponent Link Summons Underworld Goddess of the Closed World using my Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon as material, can I activate the effect of Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon?
A: Its effect can be activated in either case. (Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon is leaving the field because of your opponent’s card.) Furthermore, Underworld Goddess of the Closed World will still be destroyed when applying the effect of Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon during the End Phase.
If the following monsters originally owned by you are Tributed to Special Summon your opponent’s “Kaiju” monster, or leave your Monster Zone as material to Link Summon your opponent’s Underworld Goddess of the Closed World, their effect’s activation conditions of “leaving the field because of your opponent” will also be met.
– Lancea, Dragonic Ancestor of the Ice Spirit Mountain
– Gate Guardians Combined
– Gate Guardian of Water and Thunder
– Gate Guardian of Wind and Water
– Gate Guardian of Thunder and Wind
– Earthbound Servant Geo Grasha
– Chaos Archfiend
– Grapha, Dragon Overlord of Dark World
– Mannadium Prime-Heart
– Evilswarm Coppelia
“If Ritual Beast Ulti-Reirautari is on the field, can the effect of Naturia Camellia be applied to activate the effect of Naturia Mole Cricket?”
Q: My opponent controls a Ritual Beast Ulti-Reirautari, and its effect that prevents players from Tributing cards to activate effects is applying. If I apply the second effect of Naturia Camellia, can I still activate the first effect of Naturia Mole Cricket by sending the top 2 cards of my Deck to the GY instead of Tributing monsters?
A: Yes, you can.
“What happens if my LP are lower than my opponent’s and my opponent chains to the effect of my Gold Pride – Pin Baller with an effect that negates the activation/effect?”
Q: If my LP are lower than my opponent’s and the following effects are chained to the first effect of my Gold Pride – Pin Baller, how does it resolve?
(A) The effect of Infinite Impermanence, targeting my Gold Pride – Pin Baller.
(B) The effect of Spright Red that negates the activated effect.
(C) The effect of Baronne de Fleur that negates the activation of the effect.
A:
(A) The effect of Gold Pride – Pin Baller will not be negated when resolving its Chain Link, so it will resolve normally, but afterward the monster’s effects will still be negated, so the cards equipped by this effect will be destroyed. (They are not considered destroyed by a card effect.)
(B) The effect of Gold Pride – Pin Baller will not be negated, and even if the effect of Spright Red was activated by Tributing a Rank 2 or Link-2 monster, the part of the effect that destroys the monster cannot be applied.
(C) The activation of the effect of Gold Pride – Pin Baller is not negated, and since the activation was not negated, it is not destroyed.
“If a monster that can activate its effect once while face-up on the field is moved to the Spell & Trap Zone and then Special Summoned to the Monster Zone again, can that effect be activated again?”
Q: After activating the effect of Baronne de Fleur that negates the activation of a card or effect, another effect placed that Baronne de Fleur face-up in my Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Spell. After that, if I activated the second effect of Startling Stare of the Snake-Eyes and Special Summoned that Baronne de Fleur from the Spell & Trap Zone, will I be able to activate the second effect of Baronne de Fleur again?
A: You will be able to activate that effect again. (However, even in this case, you can only use that effect of Baronne de Fleur once per turn.)
Similarly, when the following monsters are moved to the Spell & Trap Zone, the restriction “Once while face-up on the field” for their effects is no longer considered.
– Second effect of Altergeist Adminia
– First effect of Fluffal Penguin
– First effect of Firewall Dragon
– Security Dragon
“What happens if I only have one available Monster Zone during the End Phase after I banish 2 of my own monsters with the effect of S:P Little Knight?”
Q: I activated the effect of S:P Little Knight and banished S:P Little Knight itself and a Garura, Wings of Resonant Life from my Monster Zone. If I only have one Monster Zone available during the End Phase, what happens to my 2 banished monsters?
A: Choose 1 monster you want to return, return it to the Monster Zone, and place any monsters you did not choose in the GY. (If Garura, Wings of Resonant Life is not chosen and is placed in the GY, it is not treated as being sent to the GY, so its effect to draw a card cannot be activated.)
“If a Normal Summoned Raidraptor – Vanishing Lanius is turned face-down and then flipped face-up again, can its effect be activated?”
Q: A Raidraptor – Vanishing Lanius that was Normal or Special Summoned this turn is changed to face-down Defense Position, and then flipped face-up again. Can I now activate the effect of that Raidraptor – Vanishing Lanius?
A: No, you cannot. In order to activate the effect of Raidraptor – Vanishing Lanius, it must remain face-up in the Monster Zone from the time it is Normal or Special Summoned until its effect activation is declared.
Similarly, the effects of the following cards that can be activated during the Main Phase can only be used if they remain face-up in the Monster Zone from the time they are Normal Summoned (or Flip Summoned, Special Summoned, or flipped face-up) until its effect activation is declared.
– Brotherhood of the Fire First – Leopard

*Note: This is a reversal. Previously, these effects could still be used when the monster became face-up again that turn.
“If Majestic Mech – Ohka or Majestic Mech – Goryu are changed to face-down Defense Position or temporarily banished, will they be sent to the GY during the End Phase?”
Q: If a Majestic Mech – Ohka that was Normal Summoned without Tributing, or a Majestic Mech – Goryu that was Normal Summoned by Tributing 1 monster, is turned to face-down Defense Position but flipped face-up before the End Phase, will its effect that sends it to the GY activate?
Also, if those monsters are banished until the End Phase by an effect such as Interdimensional Matter Transporter, will their effects that sends them to the GY activate?
A: Once the card is in face-down Defense Position, if it is flipped face-up before the End Phase, the effect that sends it to the GY will not activate.
If it is temporarily banished until the End Phase, the effect that sends it to the GY will still activate.
“If a Special Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku is temporarily banished, can its effect be activated during the End Phase?”
Q: My Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku that was Special Summoned this turn is banished by the second effect of my opponent’s S:P Little Knight. During the End Phase of that turn, when Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku returns to the Monster Zone, can I still activate its effect?
A: No, you cannot. In order to activate the effect of Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku, it must remain face-up in the Monster Zone from the time it is Special Summoned until the End Phase.
Similarly, the effects of the following cards that activate (or can be activated) during the End Phase can only be used if they remain face-up in the Monster Zone from the time they are Normal Summoned (or Flip Summoned, Special Summoned, or flipped face-up) until the corresponding End Phase.
