Card Legality

Q: What cards are legal for play?

A: Please check the “Products” page online at http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/products/index.html for at the most current legality dates of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG product releases, prior to preparing your Deck for the event.

* SUPER STARTER: SPACE-TIME SHOWDOWN will NOT be legal for the North American WCQ, North American Dragon Duel WCQ, and all Public Events held at the North American WCQ.

Q: Will there be coverage of the North American World Championship Qualifier?

A: There will be round-by-round online coverage of this event, including feature matches, a photo gallery, Deck analysis and more at www.yugioh-card.com/en/events. Even if you’re unable to make it to the event, you can still be part of the action as the coverage page is updated with live content from the tournament site. On Sunday July 13th we will be Live Streaming all feature matches and live Duel between the voice actors. Go to www.yugioh-card.com on Sunday July 13th to see who will be representing North America at the 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship and 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! Dragon Duel World Championship.

Q: What cool things are there at the North American World Championship Qualifier?

A: There are many cool things at the North American World Championship Qualifier this year. As with past WCQ’s, we have the “Make your own personalized Yu-Gi-Oh! Token card.” Second is the Giant Sized Duel Area that have 2 Giant Decks and a Giant Game Mat to play on. Third is a new Yu-Gi-Oh! Video Game Duel Dash that uses the XBox Kinect to interact with it. We will also be conducting demos all weekend on the new game mechanic, Pendulum Summoning!

Q: Will there be any Special Guests at the North American World Championship Qualifier?

A: Dan Green, the voice actor of Yugi Muto and Yami Yugi/Pharaoh Atem on the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series and Marc Thompson the voice actor of Astral from Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal will be present at the WCQ. They will be available at specific times during the weekend to sign autographs so bring all of your favorite Yugi Muto and Astral cards. Marc Thompson was also the voice of Rafael, the Duelist who used “Guardian Eatos” & “Guardian Dreadscythe.” Make sure you get your North American WCQ Participation Game Mat autographed!
