With the World Championship concluded and with Mario De Micco winning the event with Kewl Tune, this major event didn’t affect the market as much as others expected. So this week, we will be taking a look at cards that are great pickups for the future of the game, along with plenty more cards that deserve a new reprint after not having a reprint in a millennium. Let’s dive into this week’s Market Watch.

The Power For Future Meta Games

As we near the release of Chronicles DX: Magistus, some players are picking up copies of Spell Power Mastery over the past few weeks. Being able to add any Endymion monster from your Deck to your hand and then be able to distribute Spell Counters among cards you control that can receive them is extremely useful for the first turn if you also opened a copy of Servant of Endymion as well, which lets you gain additional Spell Counters in the process. At the current moment, the TCG has yet to announce this Chronicle Deck for our format, but if it does get announced, you can surely bet this card will be in it. Players are also picking up this card for another reason, as we’re finally having Verre, the Maid of Endymion be printed in Beyond the Brave within a month, which will help the Magistus Engine, but also help out whatever support they have planned in the future.

Many players were confused on why Elzette of the White Forest was reprinted in Magnificent Monsters, even with it being in the previous year’s 2025 Mega Tin Mega Pack. With the current Chronicle Animation being based around Diabellstar the Black Witch and the Sinful Spoils, it is without a doubt we will see more support towards both her and Sinful Spoils, White Forest, and possibly Azamina in the future. She’s even the main White Forest monster that every list runs as a 3-of because of how useful the card is. By sending 1 Spell/Trap from your hand or field to the GY, you can Special Summon her from your hand, then you add any White Forest monster from your Deck to your hand. She even recurs herself from your GY when a LIGHT Spellcaster Tuner is Special Summoned to your field during the opponent’s turn by adding herself back to the hand to give additional follow-ups on the next turn. Elzette of the White Forest and Elzette, Azamina of the White Forest will be two cards to keep watch over the next few months to see what the real impact Immortal Phoenix and future sets will have in the OCG, if there is planned Sinful Spoils lore support in them.

With new Destiny HERO Support releasing in Beyond the Brave, Destiny HERO – Malicious is back at it again, doing his shenanigans. Always at the center of any DARK Warrior combo, this card can banish itself from the GY to Special Summon a copy of itself from the Deck. With Destiny HERO – Denier, you can loop back an additional copy to your Deck so you have an additional activation for Malicious to gain more Tribute, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Material fodder. As a 3-of in most modern Destiny HERO Decks, this card is surely going to be watched if things get out of hand again.

Even though Elemental HERO Shadow Mist isn’t used in the Destiny HERO Deck, this card hasn’t seen a reprint since the Legendary Hero Decks back in 2018. The main reason for its price to rise is for the new HERO Support releasing in Magnificent Monsters in the form of Winged Kuriboh Sabitel LV10, Favorite HERO Flame Wingman, and Favorite HERO Shining Flare Wingman. These new cards let HERO have super generic ways to get to their consistency pieces like Fusion Destiny or Polymerization, so they can fuse away the needed HERO monsters for the Trigger Effects when they’re sent to the GY. When it comes to Shadow Mist, it has two great effects, but the downside is that you cannot use both during the same turn. If it is Special Summoned, you can add 1 Change Quick-Play Spell from your Deck to your hand. In addition, if Shadow Mist is sent to the GY, you can add any other HERO monster from your Deck to your hand, which could have potential in Destiny HERO but is better in the Omni-HERO variant.

With all of the new Odd-Eyes Support releasing in the TCG, it’s shocking to see that Brave-Eyes Pendulum Dragon has yet to be reprinted, and it was only printed once in Raging Tempest over 9 years ago. By requiring both a Pendulum Monster and a Warrior Monster as its Fusion Materials, when this card is Fusion Summoned, you can change the ATK of all face-up monsters the opponent controls to 0, and for the rest of the turn, only this monster can attack. This card also negates the activated effects of monsters with 0 ATK. At the end of any Damage Step where this card attacks an opponent’s monster, but that opponent’s monster is not destroyed, you can banish that monster instead, which is great for getting around monsters that want to stick on the field. This is a card players have been requesting for years on why it hasn’t received a reprint. And hopefully its time is soon, especially with the new Odd-Eyes Link-3 being released last August and 3 new cards to support Yuya’s whole Magician Pendulum theme.

Whether it is in a new Chronicle Deck, a new product releasing, or a teaser in the future, Konami always reprints specific cards for one reason or another.

Old Favorites Seeking New Prints

In older formats, Drop Off has been picking up steam to the point where there are not many copies left on the North American market. Totaling under 120 listings for a card that hasn’t seen a reprint since Speed Duel: Tournament Pack 6 back in 2023, all versions of this card have been slowly vanishing from the market for plenty of past formats. While only being able to be activated during your opponent’s Draw Phase, whatever card your opponent draws is immediately sent to their GY instead, removing an option from their hand to give you a slight edge.

Gyaku-Gire Panda is another one of these cards that has not had a reprint in quite some time, even though it saw a reprint a few years ago in the 25th Anniversary Dark Crisis pack but was only limited to the Legendary Collection 25th Anniversary Set and was never given an actual Booster Box that players could buy and open. Mainly seeing play in formats like Chaos Control and GOAT Format, this card has less than 70 listings total for a Common rarity card. This card gains 500 ATK for every monster the opponent controls, maxing at 3300 if all 5 Zones are taken, and when this monster attacks a Defense Position monster, it inflicts piercing battle damage, which could be the decision for the game if there are Scapegoat Tokens on the field or a low DEF monster.

Sphere of Chaos is one of the many marvels in the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! as it is only okayish as a tech in a very limited number of formats, even though it only has 1 print from Raging Battle. While on the field, this card is also treated as LIGHT, and once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed from battle. The major upside to this card is when it is Tribute Summoned, you can add a Level 3 or lower monster from your Deck to your hand, which can have its uses if you have Gale the Whirlwind or Black Salvo, but around 10 years ago, some Phantom Knight Burning Abyss players were also using it to search for cards like Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring or any of their Level 3 monsters. Hopefully, this card does see a new reprint, as it would be heavily appreciated for many people who love the Chaos series of cards.

Mind on Air is in the conversation again, as we are a handful of days away till the release of Magnificent Monsters in the TCG. Having its last print in Dark Revelation Volume 3 in 2006, this card has lacked any form of reprints since and has become one tech players have been wanting to try Dark Magical Curtains out with, along with Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and Gravekeeper’s Shaman to keep GY antics in check. While on the field, the opponent must play with their hand revealed. Short and straight to the point. This could see play against Raise Moon in the future, but it is also good against Vanquish Soul K9 or any card that has an effect that must reveal a card(s) in the hand to function.

We are slowly closing out the Chaos Origins format with the next few weeks of events left. Players are waiting for a new Forbidden & Limited list due to the nature of the format running its course, and players are ready for something to shake up the game on every level.
