King of Feral Imps looks like a beast in the artwork. 2 legs, 2 arms, a tail and fur with a very wide stance.

All Feral Imps are actually Gremlins. And you know what those guys look like when you feed them after midnight.

Yeah, this and just using Japanese words instead of translating them as Konami US would do with localizations is so hilarious to me.

These are pretty good, but we know how this goes. A promising first half was squandered by a disappointing second half. Here’s coping this isn’t the case…

    5. pranked on December 20, 2024 4:56 pm

this deck will only be good when they get a level 4 ritual monster until then this deck is virtually unplayable in todays meta

      • Meth on December 20, 2024 5:33 pm

This deck’s built for Ogdoadics, obviously—load up Level 8s in the GY, tribute your own monsters to special summon them, and trigger the effects of the tributed ones.

      Finally… Venom Support

But now seriously… this is a TCG exclusive? how hypocrite from them… cuz when a Japanese card has some kind of Cultural reference they just censored but when they do it is fine?

US and west always hypocrite. How dumb you are not to realize it

      • Yod on December 21, 2024 8:13 am

Oh yes please, I want venom support so badly.

I just hope they still stick to the venom counter theme, even if counters are kinda bad in yugioh, becuase if not the deck just looses 1 if its 2 interesting features (the other is vennomenaga which is a boss with highly conflicting effects/design xD)

Oh look. Another DARK Ritual deck. It seems all we ever get now for new ritual decks are DARK and LIGHT. The other attributes just don’t exist at all. :/

      • ScionStorm on December 20, 2024 7:06 pm

So, you had to go back to 2019 to find a Ritual deck to mention? That’s just as sad as I expected.

      • ScionStorm on December 20, 2024 7:42 pm

Okay. From the last 5 years, lets weigh all the new Ritual decks against the DARK/LIGHT attribute favoritism.

Multi (1)- Libromancer *Still includes 1 DARK and 1 LIGHT Ritual.
LIGHT (5)- Dogmatika, Drytron, Mikanko, Voiceless Voice, Ryu-Ge
        DARK (2)- Nouvelles, Mitsurugi

DARK/LIGHT now make up 7 out of 8 of the Ritual decks introduced in the last 5 years. And that 1 deck, Libromancer still winds up having 2 DARK/LIGHT Rituals out of its 4 Rituals.

Magikey gets 1 EARTH Ritual and of course a DARK Ritual. The WIND attribute Sonic Bird was retrained into a Ritual but had its attribute switched to DARK even though WIND is the attribute that needed more Rituals. Sadly it was released exactly 1 set before the generic WIND ritual spell was released in the TCG.

Out of the 3 Ritual decks that TCG has introduced this is also the second DARK ritual deck.

WIND and even more so FIRE are almost completely ignored. The only reason WATER has as many Rituals as it does comes entirely from just the Gishki and Nekroz themes. Which means there hasn’t been a new WATER Ritual deck in 10 years.

      • ScionStorm on December 20, 2024 8:03 pm

*Transonic Bird was released 1 set before Breath of Acclamation was released in the OCG (not TCG). They had a year of knowing it was coming. They still retrained the first WIND monster that supports Rituals into a DARK Ritual monster just 2 months before they got Breath’.

      • morphine jar on December 20, 2024 10:00 pm

this is literally the first reptile deck in history and that’s what you chose to focus on??

      • RiderBG on December 20, 2024 10:05 pm

Futsu and Saji looking like FIRE monsters, but being slapped with DARK, is just Yu-Gi-Oh being Yu-Gi-Oh.

      • ScionStorm on December 20, 2024 10:53 pm

@morphine jar -no, I’m happy Reptiles got their first Ritual deck. But it didn’t necessarily have to be DARK, now did it? Even the monster artworks make it look like the whole deck could easily have been FIRE Reptiles.

      • David on December 20, 2024 11:29 pm

@ScionStorm Because the Archetype’s based on Yamata No Orochi so them DARK Reptiles makes since if you know the myth

      • Prankatopsu on December 21, 2024 12:04 am

Well, yeah! Got keep them Bystial a reason to stay alive other than just because. Konami found the PERFECT counters to Rituals if they are kept Light/Dark.

      • ScionStorm on December 21, 2024 2:18 am

@David You mean like how they already made Yamata Dragon a FIRE monster way back in 2001?

      • Logic Bomb on December 21, 2024 11:29 pm

Um…these work generically with Reptiles? Might want to reread the cards, they literally talk more about Retiles than rituals…so you got your wish.

    12. Naransolongo_BB on December 20, 2024 5:36 pm

Seems cool so far. Good designs and decent effects too. Can’t complain until we see the next wave

    14. atomicnmare on December 20, 2024 6:34 pm

the trap card negates and must be activated in response to what it’ll negate and yet it’s not a counter trap…

also remember when they had a card named after susanoo and the tcg localized it to susa soldier?

      • ScionStorm on December 20, 2024 7:47 pm

But then we got the TCG name Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo.

      • Diggler on December 22, 2024 3:41 am

Is the ritual spell the first card that can tribute from deck?

    15. HFIL on December 20, 2024 7:04 pm

Okay, they have and in archetype Advanced and High Ritual art in one card. Pretty sick ngl

    16. Baroque on December 20, 2024 7:06 pm

It occurs to me that Futsu no Mitama’s ‘you summoned something? I revive something’ effect is A) not level-limited, B) merely once per CHAIN, and C) NOT tied to the hard OPT clause at the end of the card. It’s been a while since I looked at what all could be done with that, but I’m curious to see if anyone comes up with something especially fun or rewarding to make use of that fact; combined with how the Ritual Spell is admittedly fairly unhinged for a Ritual Spell (either you’re spending mats you have because you didn’t draw the Ritual Monster, or you drew the Monster and the Spell is now two Foolish Burials in a trenchcoat), this looks like the start of something very interesting that mostly hinges on ‘what can I pair this with’ in the immediate and ‘is the next wave good’ in the future.

      • Vapour_Nemesis on December 20, 2024 7:23 pm

THANK YOU. At least, one person in this comments section has some sense Smh

    17. Vapour_Nemesis on December 20, 2024 7:21 pm

For the people saying these cards are crap, months from now when they’re shown to be good, I better not hear any o’ y’all complaining that Konami should ban them. Because I don’t know how you can look at Ritual monsters that can a) Special Summon themselves BY being tributed for a ritual summon, b) be ritual summoned directly from the main deck or tribute FROM the main deck for their ritual summon, and c) once PER CHAIN Special summon ANY reptile monster from the GY, and say in good faith that they can only win against a 2010 deck. Like, seriously? Smh

      • Yod on December 20, 2024 7:46 pm

Carefull. All of these effects are powerfull in a vacuum, but sadly yugioh rn has a lot of disruptions, and the goal is to lock your opponent out of the game, most of the time accomplished by spamming monsters onto your board during your turn to spam out powerfull generic disruptive monsters.
While this deck can grab stuff from the deck and all, its bosses dont produce an endboard nearly good enough, and the deck isnt spammy enough to get all the generic disruptions on the board.

This deck needs a way to get something really broken on the board, then it can act as a powerfull support option, but without that/those cards its entirely support and that doesnt do anything on its own.

    18. Yod on December 20, 2024 7:38 pm

Thats one hell of an overtuned deck… sadly it probably needs to be this way to have any chance these days

However I still think it wont do much… at least alone. Its negate if optional for the opponent, the infinite revive effect can pretty much only happen on the opponents turn, where they determine the speed of it, and it isnt fully clear if the self revive effect of the rituals can actually revive them before they have been correctly ritual summoned.

All in all a nice start, but sadly a slightly deceptive one. They arent a good monster spam deck (at least in your turn), and their endboard needs a lot of setup in the GY with speciffic floodgate/atb/negate effect monsters to have any impact.

All in all a interesting deck, with the best move in it being to be able to quick effect nuke the opponents board, however its missing just a little bit to be broken… rn its sadly only mid, with some style points. I really hope the potential second wave gives them something… something like a ritual which can multiple times per turn quick effect tribute your own monsters to destroy an opponents card or something.

      • Tihus on December 21, 2024 7:44 am

Opening either ritual monster + the ritual spell means you end on 1 omni negate, a potential second or a forced discard and a raigeki that is super easy to trigger. Plus the end board is extremely gummy, Futsu summons back cards which can protect the rituals and the deck can dodge a lot of removal by tributing off your cards and it generates a lot of advantage whilst doing so. During your opponent’s turn you can search 4 cards and add back one from GY and the GY effect of the omni negate trap can really increase your damage output during your turn making it fairly easy to OTK.

      • Yod on December 21, 2024 8:10 am

I never said it couldnt otk xD
But pretty much every deck can do that these days.

The problem is it needs at least 2 card for its optimal combo, which can be a bit hard to force your deck to give you on turn 1, especially with interrups present. Also sadly neither prep nor preprep can be used in this deck.

If you can find a way to load up your GY in a way in which you have tons of defense effects reptile monsters, you may have a chance on turn 3. But rn most of the important effects suffer heavily from interruption, which makes turn 1 and 2 plays hard. However if you can make it to turn 3, the deck will outgrind the opponent.

    19. RiderBG on December 20, 2024 7:39 pm

Futsu and Saji look like they were designed during Year of Fire.

      • ScionStorm on December 20, 2024 7:54 pm

As Reptiles, though, they’ll be released in Year of Snake which is hopefully code for Year of Reptiles in ygo. Looking forward to Venom, Ogdoadic, Alien, Worm, Ananta, and Gagigo. Alligator support would be cool too but I’m not expecting that.

      • David on December 20, 2024 8:06 pm

        Maybe Reptilian too

      • ScionStorm on December 20, 2024 8:14 pm

Reptillianne has already had extra support waves. It has 3 Tuners and two Synchros that weren’t ever used in the anime. If we’re going for more Dark Signer support I’d rather have Rex as headliner for a set with Roman, Devak and Greiger also getting support waves.

    20. Orcust best deck on December 20, 2024 8:26 pm

I swear to god, people that says this deck is trash, y all stupid. With all the pre existing ritual and reptile support you can craft something stupid, it’s at least a tier 2
