When I first saw the image I thought it was a boss monster. It’s too cool looking for a graveyard retriever.
Just like Royal Rebel’s Rocker, this Monster is compatible with several Fiend Decks, including Blaze Fiends, where you can recover the Maximum pieces from the GY, or the recently revealed Cul-de-sac the Faceless (in fact, I dare say that Elite Amp powercreep Rocker in some aspects)
Either way, this pack seems to be solving several problems that Royal Rebel’s initially had in making it playable by modern standards.
Elite Amp is essentially an easier to use Rocker. While Amp’s intended targets are the 4 bosses (Heavymetal and Invasion with 0 DEF, Hard Rock and Metal Doom with 2000), the Level 5-6 sub bosses (Rocker, Grunge, Growl, and Blues), and Cul-de-sac, Amp can also incidentally recover a few Star Knights (Echelus and Pelion), the Garzetts, and most importantly the Despairacion Maximum pieces. Making those cards in their respective Decks a lot more consistent without the direct attack lock Rocker has.
King’s Greed is a main stay in Fiend decks now despite its LIGHT requirement due to Cul-de-sac and Rocker, who can easily meet the requirement and be used as the on field position swapper for the draw. Even without the effect, it can still be used with 3 or more Fiends in the GY, so even Decks that cannot make room for Greed can still play it.
This reveal confirms Konami can reveal a theme’s cards separate from the initial wave of reveal. Something we saw previously with Lord of Galactica and Ai, but as Ai was an anime reveal, that didn’t count as much. This bodes hope for Blue/Red-Eyes and DM, who barely got new support revealed so far, as well as the remaining Abysskite Traps (Ray Monochrome and Deep Shield) being printed and revealed separately.
Either way, it’s still insane how many Decks are getting support in this package.
Those who have received support so far:
– Royal Rebel’s
– Blue-Eyes
– Red-Eyes
-Dark Magician
– LIGHT Galaxy
– Chemistry
– Abysskite
Those that still need to be revealed:
– Harpie
– Celeb Rose
– DARK Galaxy (although Voidvelgr Chaosmachia can also drop as Phaser’s support)
– Blaze Fiend (from the cover of the package)
