The only thing Respect play does is stop Vanquish Soul , Danger! and Lord of the heavenly prison [and generally cards that need to reveal themselves or other cards to activate their effects]

Did you call someone?
It would be funny if they updated Respect Play, and cards like it, to allow you to ‘cheat’ when selecting a card randomly from your opponent’s hand for hand-ripping effects. Would certainly make those interactions more realistic
