Yes, this is also supposed to be spooky
Another change to the Forbidden & Limited List has been announced for Master Duel. Summon Sorceress will get the errata it received in April 2024 in the OCG (still not applicable in the TCG), and move from being Forbidden to No Longer Limited, much like its current status in the OCG. This change will be implemented on October 28th (time zones applying).
The updated text reads as follows:
“2+ monsters with the same Type, except Tokens
If this card is Link Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 monster from your hand in Defense Position to your opponent’s zone this card points to (but negate its effects), then you can Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck in Defense Position with the same Type as that monster (but negate its effects). If you Summon from your Deck this way, you cannot Special Summon for the rest of this turn, except monsters with that same original Type. You can only use this effect of “Summon Sorceress” once per turn.”
The summary of the changes is that:
-It no longer has an Ignition Effect that can be freely activated during your Main Phase. This effect has been merged into the Trigger Effect when this card is Link Summoned.
-The first part of the effect that Special Summons a monster from your hand to your opponent’s field now negates that monster’s effects.
-The second part of the effect that Special Summons a monster from the Deck is dependent on the first part being performed successfully.
-The second part can only Summon a monster with the same Type as the monster you Summoned from your hand and not just any monster that this card points to.
-You cannot Summon the monster from your Deck to your opponent’s field anymore.
-You are prevented from Special Summoning for the rest of the turn, except monsters with that same original Type.
As this change is applied on the Forbidden & Limited List, this card will become Generatable, and available in card packs.
Speaking of which, Summon Sorceress will be included in the next Selection Pack, Tricky Reception, which had been previously announced. The following cards have been confirmed:
-Hallo, the Spirit of Tricks (SR)
-Ween the Spirit of Treats (SR)
-Gold Pride – Eradicator (UR)
-Moon of the Closed Heaven (UR)
-Summon Sorceress (UR)
Furthermore, the previously announced Tryout Duel featuring loaner Decks based on Hallo and Ween will feature an additional rule: The corresponding monster will be added to your hand at the start of the Duel.

She’s back
wait feindsmith is coming
I still think its too strong. Locking you into a set monster type while still being a generic link
Monster is too much for the meta
Fortunately, we have 6 months of OCG results to look at instead of your intuition. Turns out, it’s only playable in pure fiend decks so far, which will unceremoniously exit tHe mEtA!!!1 very soon because of Ryzeal power creep and being terrible into Mulcharmies.
@Giant Turtle Who Feeds On Dames Only Fiend decks?! Oh good, so nothing like that to worry about for the next several months in Master Duel then, phew! Really had me worried there!
Go to road of the king and search for “summon sorceress”. There is no mention of her since 2018.
Go to yugiohmeta ocg lists, people ran one when unbanned in April but cut it by mid-May.
It is simply not very good in the one deck that could profitably consider running it, and this is a completely separate question from how good that deck is or isn’t. Extra deck space is a consideration, and there’s already a better, cheaper generic link monster that gets you to Fiendsmith.
Y’all are whinging about sorc in complete ignorance when you could literally look up if it has been relevant at all in the last six months before leaving a snarky comment.
