Fun fact: That bull is inspired by the Brazen Bull. A torture device that cooks someone alive as their screams get let out as bellows. I don’t know if it existed or was only an internet idea.
I guess that’s where Quattro tortures his victims for fun. Seriously, one wonders why the Vetrix Family exists someone as honorable/kind as Trey and then there is Quattro, who is on the same level of psychopath as Vector.
Oh it existed and it’s creator was it’s first victim
Yep. It exists.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazen_bull
@Bruno Considering the crap Tron made his sons do, it’s no surprise they all got a tad messed up emotionally.
Also, IV was nowhere near as bad as Vector. IV was JUST sadistic, and even then he dropped that part after Shark beat him, settling for just being egotistical. Vector is a flat out psychopath who originally murdered Nash and Merag just for pissing him off, and made a long con pretending to be Shingetsu just to torment Yuma. Even he though has Don Thousand to blame for altering his personality too, and settled for JUST being a snarky troll by series end.
konami being real on the nose with the designs of the xyzs lmao
Quattro literally attempted to burn Rio alive, even if he chose to save her at the end, he pretty much blinded her and put her in a coma.
Okay these gimmick puppets are something to keep a eye out for, and turning quadro into w cards is quite a nice easter egg.
Finally, Konami gave Gimmick Puppet a real Gimmick: being able to lock yourself and your Opponent into Gimmick Puppet.
Are they able to lock the opponent? As far as I can see, none of them are Quick Effects.
I can finally crush my opponents
Luckily none of these are quick effects. Although in the modern game, locking your opponent during your turn is honestly quite helpful.
The new Trap has Antidote Nurse on it… That’s currently only an anime card, so I wonder if they’re lightly hinting at it being imported in the next Animation Chronicle?
Good catch! Thats pretty cool
Pretty good chance many of IV’s cards in that duel, especially Puppet Repair, will be printed in that set.
You might be right or it might just be a reference to the episode where Quattro faced off against Bronk and Caswell during the Duel Carnival. Bronk used Tin Archduke and Caswell used Antidote Nurse and Giant Grinder was the monster the two faced and lost against.
I can’t remotely bring myself to care about Gimmick Puppets, but that Rank 8 definitely has some interesting text on it. Completely generic, adds a Rank up, and gives Machines an extra normal. Has my attention. (also the field spell is just funny to me)
Okay I might be the guy know for being ancient gear obsessed, but I do need to say that gimmick puppets are something that I might even play.
Yep it’s gonna be a bad year.
For a deck with extreme xenolock it needs more disruption, the rank 9 and the trap arent enough
Inb4 someone finds a way to consistently summon nightmare to your opponent’s field during their turn
Such a creepy archetype lol It always makes me want ro revisit the old Puppet Master movies.
Good support, finally makes Giant Killer and Strings more worthwhile in the current environment. My only qualm is, why can’t Fanatix search out Puppet Spells as well?
THE REAL FANSERVICE STARTS HERE
why does he look like spamton neo
I’m so happy, I was hoping for this so much, I tried several mechanics in master duel but this is really what I needed
If gimmick puppets get a on brand rank up spell then I hope it allows you to revive a gimmick puppet from your Graveyard before turning it into a Cxyz varient of it.
I love IV, one of the reason why i watched Zexal even tho i hate Yuma during that time
THANKS KOWHORENEY MORE TOXIC CARDS LIKE SANCTFIRE ARE WELCOME IN OUR COMMUNITY
Literally the only way to make them work is by forcing their xenolock on the opponent.
Finally! This stuff is so good for the deck, and Little Soldiers is totally about to get cartoonized. The inconsistent censors at Konami are salivating at the chance to wussy up the art.
Martha and Bloody Doll, 1 card to Xyz summon with both locks.
Trap is kinda nutty but sadly targets and it has the most protection aside from Destruction protection.
Wait, so their game plan is still Nightmare Lock?
I don’t think they can lock, they don’t have any quick effect with the summon in either side, also they are a going second deck, their game plan is killing+burning, their field makes then unaffected by any non xyz effect the enemy can throw them, their ability to take monsters from gy through cattle scream give them an ability to steal opp generic negates after getting rid of their board, or stealing them directly through their rank 4, terror baby also doesn’t let enemy respond to their stuff, i guess the issue is that they can’t search the field spell… but the deck looks pretty solid
Bold of you to think TCG players won’t find a way to abuse the deck with nightmare in opponen’t turn.
Still hoping PK gets actual support for the theme. There’s one Xyz spot left. My fervent wish is that PK get an actual new PK Xyz. They haven’t had a single new Xyz since the second one premiered in the anime.
Finally some fanservice after this month’s news put me to sleep. Long ago I though about Two Hops with One Sting to emulate the burn loop but now they went hard on being able to do it cleanly in-theme; a big tribute to episode 33. Baby Face and Knight (a blank canva-ss for effects) soon?
For thousands of years ive been waiting, FINALY GOMMICK PUPPET SUPPORT 😀
oh wow, imagine that you got some decent support and a link monster to buffer your plays, you ain’t been waiting longer than me mate. i’m 2 parallel universe ahead of you in waiting times. so i ask again konami…….
WHERE. ARE. MY. PERFORMAGE SUPPORTS?! my boi dennis is a super recurring character with disrespected deck all trapped in Arc-v anime Limbo land!
show MUST GO OOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!
*extra supports i want to see are heraldics/iron chain and Umbral horror*
So far none of the game original CXyz change the name from the base name which is unsettling.
Never mind, disregard the above. Whoops.
Wonder if that means we might also see G.P Princess and Scarecrow as well in the Animation Chronicle so that we finally have all the Gimmick Puppet monsters at last.
awwww yis
gimmick puppet finally got it
the field spell that searches da monster
If these translations (and my recollection of the cards) are correct, you can FTK with Field Spell + Bloody Doll (or Cattle Scream) + Terror Baby if uninterrupted.
Field Spell spell for Cattle > Bloody Doll for Dreary > overlay for Fantasix detach Dreary for Rum Argent Chaos >Rum for Fanatix > Cattle summon by detaching Fantasix > Normal Terror Baby to special Dreary > Overlay for Strings (Fantasix specials to opponent field and adds rum back to hand) > detach to put sting counter on Fanatix > rum strings for Giant Killer > Field Spell detach Strings, then summon strings to opponent > giant killer pop strings (-3000) > Link Baby and Killer for Chimera > Chimera for any 8 > Dreary Doll GY effect to summon > Overlay for Giant Grinder (argent rum once per duel effect adds it back to hand) > Cxyz Fanatix detach effect to summon Strings again > Grinder pop strings and Fantasix (-1500, -3000) > Rum For Dark Strings > Dark Strings destroys Cxyz Fanatix with String count (-3100) > -10600 ftk
Also Terror Baby isn’t even once per turn, so you could normal summon it twice after resolving Fantasix. Now that the deck actually has 1-card combos, setting up the grave with Condolonce Puppet+Bisque/Baby might actually be worth doing at the start of the turn, though the field spell already gives protection from most hand traps.
With how strong the field spell is, Planetary Pathfinder might be the deck’s new normal summon.
The community has managed to figure out a one-card FTK that you only need the Field Spell for, which is insanely nutty. Field search Soldiers, Soldiers dump Bloody which adds back to hand, Bloody reveal Grinder and SS Cattle along with itself, XYZ Fantasix, detach to search RUM Argent, RUM into Cxyz Fantasix, Cattle GY effect detach Fantasix to SS, XYZ Strings and use RUM GY effect to add back to hand, Strings detach to put counter on Cxyz, Cxyz detach to SS Cattle to opponent’s field, RUM into Dark Strings, Fantasix on Chain 2 to SS itself to your field and return RUM to hand, Dark Strings pops Cxyz (3100), Dark Strings detach to put counter on Cattle, Link into Chimera Doll, Chimera search Scissor Arms, Fantasix extra Normal Summon Scissor Arms, Scissor Arms dump Dreary, Dreary banishes Dark Strings from GY to SS itself, Soldiers GY eff increases Scissor Arms to Level 8, XYZ Grinder, Field Spell detach to SS Cxyz to opponent’s field, Grinder detach to pop Cxyz (3100, 6200 total), RUM into Dark Strings, Dark Strings pops Cattle (2000, 8100 total).
Hmm, the field spell shows Dreary Doll’s TCG design, that’s kinda funky.
That’s literally just the Ginga Bishounen from Star Driver.

Goblin Biker meta LET’S GOOOOOOOOO
Quattro as XYZ monster
…so Rank9SpaceMachines.dec support when?
V’s kinda screwed because his pile of cards barely can be called a deck so I’m curious how Konmai will make them work.
One of the best field spells in the game.
The names are not a combination of Fanservice with the other words they are a combination of the term Deus Ex machina with Fantasy and fanatic but they couldn’t keep the E because that would make a Fantasix FantaSEX
You clearly don’t watch Zexal with jp dub aren’t you ?? Fanservice is IV’s quotes in the anime.
Komoney had never learned. Designing a card with the ability to give a body to an opponent is always a mistake. But guess that was their favorite gimmick, which is why they always printed toxic cards like these. And yes, it fits the design with the hook, but Komoney doesn’t need to give it to your opponent unless I am right.
Let me rephrase, Komoney had never learned and will never learn.
Pretty sure Bloody Doll is a Bloody Mary reference, given the shared name, mirror, and both being linked to the occult
