        Because you’re not intended to make the new Synchro with Leon; you’re intended to make the new Synchro with the new Gold Pride Tuner, implicitly using a spent Leon or perhaps Carrier as the cost to spawn the Token needed for the Synchro Summon.

        (It seems that filters are preventing the mentioning of these cards given names in comments.

        Every Gold Pride monster has an Extra Deck monster as an evolution. Each boss has an effect that returns itself to the Extra Deck to summon its weaker counterpart.
        Leon’s evolution is Star Leon.

      I expected Gold Pride in the prior set. The Tuner is okay, being a Level 5 EARTH Machine that can Special Summon itself from the hand gives it some significant versatility. The Synchro is kinda awful though.
