Summarized Notes from KDE Staff
Players will generally tolerate 40 or 50 for the upper limit cost of power costs. 50 has to be for absolute monsters like "Maxx "C"".Typical 40 Point cards are Branded Fusion, Kewl Tune Rotary and Mind Shuffle. And the compromise is these are 1 of power cards designed to be searched and recovered by your other cards. As a result cards like these, and Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon and The Zombie Vampire.
There was a general adjustment for sending cards from the top of the Deck to the Graveyard or from the Deck to the Graveyard as player feedback requested more of these. Also, at the moment they're going to remain strict on giving Tearlaments nothing because it is a high power Deck that can create nearly unreadable and non-parseable play states.
There has also been a re-evaluation on searching cards though they're being stricter with, obviously, cards that can search multiple things at once. at once.
Negate costs have been restructured so Baronne de Fleur is down to 50 and Phantom of Yubel is so problematic it's been kicked up to 100 as an 'honorary' Link Monster.
Themes such as ABC, True Draco, Ritual Beast, Star Seraphs, Subterror, Dragonmaid, and the Dragon Rulers which are all not doing anything have been dropped from the list completely.
Also on Data Driven Updates:
Last but not least, we made changes based on the last 2 months of gameplay. Some of the changes we would have made were superseded by other categories above, like in the Sacred Beasts Released example or with the Exosister cards that gained points (in other words, Exosisters’ points went up because of this recategorization of effects, not because of Exosisters’ performance data). We’re holding off on Pair Bear Scare!! for now until we’ve seen what people decide to play under this new list, and yes, Skull Meister did indeed get the 1 point (for the same reason that D.D. Crow did previously – it was an auto-include in most Decks and 0-point auto-includes can reduce Deck diversity and Deck-building intricacy; it’s more interesting when we have the 0-point Mystical Space Typhoon vs. 1-point Cosmic Cyclone dynamic, like we mentioned in the previous article). Do not be shocked if Skull Meister is still the most played card in the format. (We certainly won’t be.)
