Luna Light Perfume search!
Heavy Poly Anyone?
Wait Liger Dancer is a male!?
That defo looks female to me
@Solstice it’s not the only case where Yu-Gi-Oh! grants a female card the title of “king”. Just look at D/D/D Oracle King D’Arc. It’s a woman, based on Jeanne D’arc. Now, of course, Jeanne disguised herself as a man in history, but it doesn’t seem to be the case on the card, for it has noticeable breasts, even in armor. Jeanne D’arc was also not a king either, just a soldier. I guess women could also TECHNICALLY be kings, if you think of “king” as the “ruler”, and the “queen” as just the “king’s wife”, since in the majority of the cases that’s how it was. Unless the woman was the only surviving adult apt to rule, then yes, she would be queen regent, plus I guess some other exceptions. Also, Liger Dancer is an evolution of Lion Dancer, and lions are the kings of the jungles. But ultimately, I think this is just a case of ygorganization translating it a particular way. If I’m not mistaken, “ōõ”, which is the word for king in japanese, is actually gender neutral and can mean simply “ruler”, I suppose, and then however translated the summon chant went with “king”, instead of considering the card’s gender and adapting it to “queen”.
This is referencing Leo Dancer’s summon chant, which Serena describes as the “king of the beasts” (lions are the king of the jungle). Ligers are the offspring of male lions and female tigers, referencing Leo Dancer and Tiger. All 3 of these monsters are distinctly women with feminine features.
Ou in Japanese is not always male gendered. Women are sometimes referred to as ou. So it’s not referencing a king, but a ruler.
In One Piece for example, Big Mom claims she will be Pirate King (Kaizoku no Ou) despite being a woman. Serena is a tomboy and speaks rudely and boldly. She is also named after Diana or Artemis. So Liger is closer to being the tomboyish leader of an all women hunting group than a man.
Pretty messed that a perfume monster sorches a specific perfume (that itself soches more sigh) but not the monster versions of vicious claw and magnum shield.
The base for Leo Dancer is gekkōmai shishi hime (月光舞獅子姫), or Moonlight Dance Lion Princess.
Liger Dancer’s base is gekkōmai shishishin hime (月光舞獅子神姫), or Moonlight Dance Lion God Princess.
The other Fusions also have 姫 (princess), including Perfume, who is gekkōmaiko hime (月光舞香姫), or Moonlight Dance Incense Princess.
So yes, they are all women.
.
@NeoPhoenix what are you talking about? Oracle King D’Arc looks very female! She even has boobs
So predaplant support next?
More Predaplants when Phantom Knights have been screwed over?
@ScionStorm- Generally Arc V Support is of good quality but I do agree with what you implied (i.e. Phantom Knights should/would be supported before predaplants).
@OE Nah we need Graydle support
Plss!!! We need something to beat yugo(fusion!)
All I want is a fusion that specifically mentions Flytrap and Nepenthes. It’s crazy how superior the art of the og trio is to everything that came after. If PK support isn’t about setting PK normal traps that can summon themselves I’m going back to sleep.
Saves your Arc-V decks for yourself!
They alredy got so much loves compared to GX
@Articz- GX has enjoyed support 10 years before Arc V even existed so it’s disengenuous to compare the rate the two get support.
Besides most GX era decks have aged terribly as they pioneered the concept of ‘archetypes’ but lacked the foresight to understand how the game was evolving and what an actual ‘good archetype’ looked like.
Consequently, they committed themselves to weak mechanics and playstyles that they are inherently stuck with. Whilst they have been improved and supported over the years, it’s not enough to overcome the deficit of being a bad starting archetype.
Liger Danger is a BEAST!
You do realize it’s an 8 mat investment if done without dumping an ed monster
, and even if you dump that’s a 4 mat investment that’s not exactly guaranteed. 8 mat being 2 for cat, cat +1 more for panther = 3 total, panther + 2 more for Leo = 5 total, Leo + 3 more for liger = 8 total. If you want to talk about dumping, they got kaliedo and LL fusion only but to use a monster in the gy they only got wolf or the new masquerade which requires a poly in gy, basically making it mute for how likely it would work. So your two options are dump something then use wolf, or use LL fusion and 3 other monsters basically leaving you open.
Liger Dancer is horrific practically even if going to be used is all I’m stating since it and masquerade are very needed but over nerfed
anon how to tell me you don’t play lunalight without telling me you don’t play lunalight
@Anon- Only someone who wanted to use Lunalight as an engine would say what you have said. For those wanting to play Lunalight as a deck rather than an engine, this isn’t an issue.
No it’s a Beast-Warrior
You’re all coping very hard
. I’m right here even if you all don’t see it
@joseph pretty much they forget wolf exist and masquerade which is double miracle fusion but then again they only care for engine
Anon, you are definitely someone who “plays” lunalight as an engine, anyone GOOD at playing lunalight will have absolute no issue bringing Liger Dancer at all, especially with all these new support that pretty much spams lunalight all night long. Just with the fact I can recycle tiger multiple times, already gives me more than enough resources to work with, and both Liger and silver hound helps with the issue of going first with lunalight, who mostly can’t do much on first turn with their signature monsters. You don’t have a single idea what you are talking about to be honest.
@Anon read lunalight kaleido chick effect VERYYY carefully and reread it several times over.
Once you understand, you will realise how stupid you sound.
No material for perfume dancer?
they forgot to include it but its just any 2 lunalight monsters
Hopefully new Frightful support soon. Easily one of my favorite Fusion decks in the game.
they do need it smh also so many forgotten gx decks like roid and cyber angels but we keep getting more sky strikers lets go
Perfume Dancer returns any LL CARD
Tiger and Masquerade abuse
Tiger for sure but people have been ‘abusing’ Tiger for years now. Being able to SS a LL from GY in recent formats isn’t an issue. Also Masquerade is a hard once per turn so no abuse there.
I want the r34 of the fusions on my desk tomorrow.
Tomorrow? I want it for yesterday. Time is money.
I need it now. Not tomorrow, not after breakfast…. NOW!
The discard effects on some of these makes me feel that there is now more synergy with tri-brigade
The discard effects are designed for the wide array of Lunalight monsters who must be sent to the GY by card effects. Emerald Bird, Crimson Fox, Yellow Marten, Kaleido Chick, and now Silver Hound. Purple Butterfly and Serenade Dance also have GY effects.
However, this must be done by card effect. While Lunalight can be used in Tri-Brigade, they’re not ideal especially since one of their Spells locks to Links and Link Summons aren’t card effects. This is also why we didn’t get new Links or Pendulums in this wave.
That card that locks to links is never used in tri-brigade anyway.
King of Kings… but she is a lady…
Not any less braindead than senpai, yet they’re furriest so everybody is over the moon for them I guess
Well Anime support too. if this was like zoodiac support people wouldnt care as much.
Bro is really just going to pretend the archetype literaly called FUR Hire doesn’t exist lol
Never played fur hire but do they do the same thing? would people have the same reaction if they got support
Leo is amazing. You can add any other Lunalight monster from Deck to hand on summon, and then discard by effect. Discard targets include Silver Hound, Serenade Dance (which in turn also sends a card from hand to GY by effect), Crimson Fox, Emerald Bird, Purple Butterfly, Yellow Marten, and to a lesser extent Kaleido Chick (only if you add Poly as a garnet). Then, when a Lunalight monster is sent to the GY in any way while Leo is face up on your field, including by Leo’s own effect, Leo recovers 1 of those monsters. This is useful for maintaining hand advantage and recovering Fusion materials and Gold Leo/Emerald Bird’s target. With Luna Light Perfume (now searchable), White Rabbit, Serenade Dancer, and the new Silver Hound and Masquerade, you have no shortage of ways to Special Summon Leo.
Silver Hound is equally amazing. Hound can summon any Lunalight from your Deck if sent to the GY by card effect. This is done as Fusion material, or with Bird, Foolish Burial, Masquerade, Serenade Dancer, Kittytail, and Armageddon Knight. Hound also addresses an issue with the Deck in dealing with backrow, but needing to banish a Lunalight Fusion as well is a bit cumbersome since they would rather stay in the GY either as Fusion material for Masquerade/Wolf or their GY effects.
Perfume Dancer solves an issue with the Deck in fitting Luna Light Perfume, which is an amazing card for the Deck but unsearched for years until now. Dancer can also bounce a Lunalight card you control back to your hand, ideally Tiger or Wolf for their soft OPT effects or Masquerade for her mill, to Special Summon a Lunalight from hand, specifically ones that have on field effects that you don’t want to use your Normal Summon on and if you don’t want to commit to Butterfly. Finally, Dancer can banish herself from GY making it easier for your Fusions to OTK.
Liger Dancer’s materials are hefty, but with the new tools in our toolbox and their amazing recursion, Special Summoning from the Deck and GY, Masquerade, and Kaleido Chick who on her own satisfies 2 of the materials if played with Wolf or Masquerade, makes it a bit easier to use. Has a respectable 3800 ATK and is unaffected by non-Lunalight card effects, and on quick effect sends a Lunalight monster from ED to GY to destroy the opponent’s Special Summoned monsters. This references how both Academia (where Celina is from) and Heartland’s Extra Deck bosses are designed against their rival summoning mechanic, and Celina was an Academia soldier.
Gold and Silver are inspired by the Tyler sisters, whom Celina did not meet herself on screen but are both women Fusion Duelists at Academia. Perfume Dancer resembles Cat Dancer, having the same build, dance cloth, and uniquely shaped hat. Like Flowering Etoile resembles Zuzu and Ensemblue Robin resembles Lulu, Perfume Dancer resembles Celina. Liger Dancer references the Tyler sisters once more, since Grace’s strongest Fusions are evolution of Amazoness Pet Tiger, while Liger is the evolution of Leo Dancer (lion), the other half of a liger.
Masquerade solves another issue with the Deck, and one I predicted would be in here. On activation, it mills a Lunalight monster from Deck to GY, and unlike Kaleido does so without summon, activating the effects of the aforementioned Lunalight monsters who must be sent to the GY by card effect. The best option now is Silver Hound, and the second best is Yellow Marten. But you can also mill Purple Butterfly so you can summon a Lunalight from hand without using up your Normal, which you may still need for Rabbit, Kittytail, or Knight. Masquerade is meant to be used with Black Sheep specifically, adding the Polymerization she searches by discard back to your hand after you Fusion Summon with Poly. Or Kaleido Chick, who mills a Lunalight from Deck or Extra Deck to treat its name on the field as the one you mill, and if sent to GY by card effect, recovers Poly as well. Then, Masquerade discards by card effect, letting you activate another Lunalight’s sent to GY effect. Masquerade also lets you banish Lunalights in your GY as Fusion material after you add Poly back to your hand, making it much easier to go into your higher tier Fusions (since you can fuse monsters in hand, field, and GY) and less reliant on Wolf. You do have to play the garnet, but fortunately Black Sheep not only adds Poly to your hand but can later be used as Fusion material in the GY once you do. Masquerade is also meant to be bounced back with Perfume Dancer.
Very nice overview.
That said, I disagree with the notion that Polymerization in Lunalights is “a garnet”. Unless you were playing the theme as an engine of some kind, from my perspective, if Lunalights are being used, so is Polymerization. To that end, I feel referring to Poly as “a garnet” in the context to Lunalights as a Deck gives the wrong connotations.
Too bad Silver wolf sux, It locks you into Lunalights, which means no Link summoning to further extend, And its GY effect you probably will never use because if you are dumping a fusion to the GY, You probably are using it to fuse with. Masquerade is Crazy good as it’s essentially a Foolish burial and Gold is also a good searcher, but it would have been better if it could have searched Serenade dance. Overall very good support, I will probably play 3 Gold and 0-1 Silver, 3 Masquerade and 1 of each fusion.
Technically Gold can search Serenade indirectly by searching and/or discarding Marten, though you probably want to search Masquerade instead.
Silver is fine at 2. The lock is only while the summoned monster is face up and summons from Deck, and you’re probably using it for Perfume Dancer anyway.
meanwhile the windwitches are in the corner crying over getting ignored again
I used to build Windwitch deck, but it’s super fragile/weak, you can’t really make the deck work without using some Speedroid cards, but there are some Windwitch monsters that require you to only play Windwitch monsters for their effects to work, so the deck desperately needs more Windwitch members to joins the deck.
Windwitch got support in Blazing Vortex which is relatively recent and certainly not being ‘ignored’. Out of the 4 dimension girls, Lunalight hasn’t been supported in the longest amount of time so LL absolutely should have been the priority for support.
Golden Leo is a 1.5 card combo alone
-Normal Golden Leo, 1st eff add Yellow Martin, discard Yellow Martin
-Yellow Martin add Lunalight Masquerade
-Masquerade 1st effect send Silver Hound
-Silver hound eff special Kelido chick
-Kelido chick send black sheep to grave
-Golden Leo 2nd effect add back the black sheep
-Black sheep discard for poly
-fuse for perfumer with Golden and Kelido chick
-Masquerade 2nd add back poly then discard anything
-Perfumer add perfume
-Perfume special back kelido chick
-Kelido chick send Leo dancer
-Fuse Liger dancer sending Perfumer and kelido to grave and banishing Leo dancer and black sheep
Now you have a towers that can wiper your opponents field and Silver hounds spell/trap negate in grave with the perfumer. You also have followup because perfume can add Tiger with another discard and kelido chick will add back the Poly
With more engine you could even summon a 2nd Liger dancer. Its eff to destroy the field isn’t even a hard once
The new support is so amazing
Just testing here but it can function with 1 card alone even. This support is amazing.
As someone who didn’t watch arc5 fully from start to finish, lemme guess that girl never ever smile for once in the anime
She doesn’t smile often but she warmed up to Yuya, Riley, and Yugo during Season 2.
She does.
This opens the door for other forgotten decks to have new support
Serena walked so Dark Scorpions could run.
The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?
Predaplants when!?? We need an unneffected card as well! Not just for speedroids or Lunalights!
We need an abomination of an end Boss monster like Over Crystal Clear!
You’re just mad Lunalight got support before Predaplant
@Shine, Predaplant hasn’t been supported since Dimension Force in 2022 and 3 years without support is very normal for anime decks.
Lunalight hasn’t been supported for 6 years so it definitely deserved the support over Predaplant.
Melodious – 20 monsters (excluding the roses)
Moonlight – 18
Wind Witch – 8
Lyrical Luscinia – 10
Ok not as bad as I thought. I was going to snark about Serena exceeding Yuzu which was my kneejerk assumption. Of course more work is needed for the later two. Anyway, I don’t really see more payoff at first glance for the dancing gimmick aka attacking multiple monsters aka Serenade Dance ON the field so back to sleep. Negate, recursion, otk don’t count as a gimmick because every name cutout does that.
Lmao, imagine being mad at the possibility of a fictional character having more cards on it’s archetype than another, that’s kinda pathetic man, also, it took melodious THAT many cards to even be decent, lunalight was at least playable from the start, even having one of it’s cards banned for a while.
“playable” The implications are terrifying.
leo and hound are adorable, leo especially i mean look at that smile
This is exactly the support I was hoping for. Everything looks so good, more materials to work with, more fusions, finally a luna light perfume searcher and overall much more synergy. I always played Lunalight as pure as possible, and this support fixes several issues, especially going first, really nice, I like everything about this.
Finally new Lunalights! One of my top 5 fave decks still to this day! Plus is still a good deck in Duel Links. I am hyped for these new cards!
They all seem good except for the spell card IMO. Besides the welcomed free searching & summons Silver Hound & Gold Leo provides, Silver Hound’s negation effect seems like a nice bonus considering the deck has lacked many ways to negate anything. I am a simple monster… I see non-affected by everything cards like Liger Dancer, and I feel happy like a crazy villain! the rest of her effects are a bit lacking, but are still good. Perfume Dancer seems like a nice bonus card to keep the momentum going, but I am not sure if it will be highly useful yet. Altogether this is a lovely upgrade to the deck regardless of not being revolutionary for it either… if Masquerade was more like Snake Ruin, and less like foolish burial… THEN we would had been talking!
Well this was unexpected. I don’t know or really care much for Lunalight, but from the comments, these seem good.
Annual reminder that Emerald Bird and Yellow Marten look like they were done by a completely different artist who never laid their eyes upon a Moonlight monster. Their levels opening the eXceed slop gates was just salt in the wound. Did you know moonlight is cold?
Lunalight Liger Dancer is undoubtedly an impressive card with a powerful effect, but the difficulty of summoning it is a significant hurdle. To bring out Liger Dancer, you need a total of 11 monsters, which includes 8 Lunalight monsters and 3 fusion materials. Here’s the breakdown of the sequence:
Cat Dancer – Requires 2 Lunalight monsters.
Panther Dancer – Requires Cat Dancer plus 1 additional Lunalight monster.
Leo Dancer – Requires Panther Dancer and 2 more Lunalight monsters.
Liger Dancer – Requires Leo Dancer and 3 more Lunalight monsters.
While the effects of Liger Dancer are undeniably great, the hoops you must jump through to summon it make it a challenge. There are ways to streamline the process, such as using cards like Elemental Hero Prisma, Lunalight Kaleido Chick, or Extra Foolish Burial (which, though effective, requires 3 turns to set up).
It’s also important to note that Lunalight Fusion can be used to facilitate the summoning, but this relies on your opponent having a special-summoned monster from the Extra Deck to activate its second effect. This is particularly difficult if you’re going first, as you would have to wait for your opponent to summon something before you can trigger the Fusion effect.
In summary, while the payoff of summoning Lunalight Liger Dancer is substantial, the steps to achieve it make the process highly challenging, requiring careful setup and sometimes relying on your opponent’s actions.
Kaleido chick plus 3 lunalights in the GY makes this.
It still bothers me that this archetype is not called “Moonlight”, I know there are some Moonlight monsters that are not part of the archetype, all they have to do is change Black Rose Moonlight Dragon to Black Rose Moon Light Dragon or give it a text that says “this card is not treated as a “Moonlight” card.
Well I’m hoping the set is a spiritual successer to fusion inforcers and along with lunalight that either predaplant, frightfur, D/D, Z-arc, and of course ancient gear get some support, or at the vary least gives us some good generic support that helps with fusion’s.
But that’s just my wish list.
“… by the power of moon’s gravity.”
Made in Heaven Lunalight edition.
