“Crystron” Special Feature: Duel With Various Synchro Summons!
A new series, “Crystron” appears, a group of WATER Machine-Type monsters whose main charm is their varied Synchro Summons! Centered around the fact their Tuners can Synchro Summon during your opponent’s turn, you can call forth your Ace Monsters using the Synchro that lays behind further Synchro Summons!
Let’s check out this Special Feature on the “Crystron” released in “Invasion of Venom” (On Sale July 9th, 2016)!
“Crystron” Synchro Monsters
“Crystron Quondam” is a Level 4 Synchro Tuner, while “Crystron Ametrix” is a Level 5 Synchro Monster! By using these two Synchro Monsters as Synchro Materials for a Synchro Summon, you can call forth your Ace Monster, “Crystron Phoenixion”!
A Level 4 Synchro Tuner with an effect to Synchro Summon during your opponent’s turn!
Crystron Quondam
[Tuner ATK 1800/DEF 2000]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase, you can: Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Synchro Monster, using monsters you control including this card (this is a Quick Effect). If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 “Crystron” monster in your Graveyard, except a Synchro Monster; Special Summon it.
[⇒ It’s a Synchro Tuner with an effect that lets it Synchro Summon during your opponent’s turn! By combining it with a monster whose effect activates when it’s Synchro Summoned, you can disrupt your opponent’s moves!]
A Level 5 Synchro Monster with an effect that lets you oppose your opponent’s assault!
Crystron Ametrix
[ATK 2500/DEF 1500]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can change all face-up Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls to Defense Position. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 “Crystron” monster in your Graveyard, except a Synchro Monster; Special Summon it.
[⇒ It can switch your opponent’s powerful Special Summoned monsters to Defense Position using its first effect! You can Synchro Summon it during your opponent’s Battle Phase, and then you can easily destroy low Defense monsters!]
An Ace Monster with an intense effect! Call it forth by Synchro Summoning it using Synchro Monsters!
Crystron Phoenixion
[ATK 2800/DEF 2000]
1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 1 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters
If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can banish all Spell/Trap Cards your opponent controls and in their Graveyard. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 other monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.
[⇒ Its effect that banishes all of your opponent’s Spells and Traps on the field and in the Graveyard is intense! This effect is a countermeasure against Spells and Traps with effects that activate in the Graveyard, but it also works well against cards in the Pendulum Zone, since they’re treated as a Spell Cards, allowing you to banish everything including them!! It’s an Ace Monster with an effect that lets you take control of your opponent’s battle plans!]
Non-Synchro Monster “Crystron” Monsters
And of the six being introduced here, two of them are Tuners! Furthermore they have effects to let you Synchro Summon by Special Summoning the Synchro Materials you need from your hand or Graveyard, but you must use them to immediately Synchro Summon! It’s possible to Synchro Summon on your opponent’s turn while only these cards are on the field!
Synchro Summon during your opponent’s turn using a Tuner!!
Crystron Quon
[Tuner ATK 500/DEF 500]
During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase: You can Special Summon 1 non-Tuner monster from your hand, but its effects are negated, and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Machine-Type Synchro Monster, using that monster and this card only (this is a Quick Effect). You can only use this effect of “Crystron Quon” once per turn.
[⇒ It’s a Tuner with an effect that lets you Synchro Summon during your opponent’s turn, by bringingout out a material from your hand to immediately Synchro Summon! A Level 3 monster from your hand can make the Level 4 Synchro Tuner “Crystron Quondam”, also, a Level 4 monster from your hand can be used to Synchro Summon the Level 5 “Crystron Ametrix”!]
Cyrstron Citri
[Tuner ATK 500/DEF 500]
During your opponent’s Main Phase or Battle Phase: You can target 1 non-Tuner monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it, but its effects are negated, and if you do, immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 Machine-Type Synchro Monster, using that monster and this card only (this is a Quick Effect). These Synchro Materials are banished instead of being sent to the Graveyard. You can only use this effect of “Crystron Citri” once per turn.
[⇒ Its first effect lets you Synchro Summon during your opponent’s turn! You can Synchro Summon using a Level 2 monster from your Graveyard to bring out a Level 4 “Crystron Quondam”, or using a Level 3 monster from your Graveyard to bring out a Level 5 “Crystron Ametrix”!]
By the way, these two can call forth monsters to Synchro Summon using “Crystron” Synchro Monsters other than “Crystron”! (However the monsters you use must be materials for a Machine-Type Synchro Monster) For example, during a turn whe your opponent pushes to win, Synchro Summon “Inzektron Powered”, allowing you throw a monkeywrench in your opponent’s plan!
These Monsters have abilities to call forth Tuners from the Deck, and also have effects that activate from the Graveyard!
These 4 non-Tuner Monsters all have an ability to Special Summon a “Crystron” Tuner from the Deck!
Their First Monster Effect:
You can target 1 face-up card you control; destroy it, and if you do, Special Summon 1 “Crystron” Tuner monster from your Deck, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Machine-Type Synchro Monsters.
This first effect lets them even target themselves to call forth a “Crystron” Tuner from the Deck, letting you set up for a Synchro Summon!
But let’s also check each of their induvidual effects!
※ These four monsters have 『 You can only use the first and second effects of “Card Name” only per turn, and only one of them that turn』, so keep that in mind! It’s important to keep in mind if you want to use their first OR second effect that turn.

Krystal Potential
[Field Spell Card]
All “Crystron” monsters you control gain 300 ATK and DEF. Once per turn, during the End Phase: You can draw cards equal to the number of “Crystron” Synchro Monsters you Synchro Summoned this turn.
[⇒ Its first effect supports Crystrons in battle! “Crystron Phoenixion” will have 3100 ATK, meaning it can destroy any monster with 3000 ATK or DEF via battle! Also, its second effect can be used during the opponent’s turn! Synchro Summon “Crystron Quondam” and “Crystron Ametrix”, then Synchro Summon “Crystron Phoenixion” during your opponent’s turn to draw 3 cards!]
Crystron Entry
[Normal Trap Card]
Special Summon 1 “Crystron” Tuner monster from your hand and 1 “Crystron” Tuner monster from your Graveyard. During either player’s turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 “Crystron” monster you control; send 1 “Crystron” monster with a different Level than that monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, and if you do, that monster’s Level becomes the same as the sent monster’s. You can only use this effect of “Crystron Entry” once per turn.
[⇒ Its first effect gathers “Quon” and “Citri”, allowing you to make moves with their effects to let you Synchro Summon “Phoenixion”!]
Crystron Impact
[Normal Trap Card]
Target 1 of your banished “Crystron” monsters; Special Summon it, and if you do, if your opponent controls a face-up monster(s), the DEF of all face-up monsters your opponent controls becomes 0. During either player’s turn, when a card or effect is activated that targets a “Crystron” monster(s) you control, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate that effect.
[⇒ Its first effect brings out a monster, while reducing the DEF of all opponent monsters to 0! If you Synchro Summon “Ametrix” using the monster you brought back, you can switch your opponent’s Special Summoned monsters to Defense Position, giving you a combo to destroy them by battle!]
