Note: Tractus is Latin for “progress/passage”, there are many different words read as “eisei”, so we’re unsure as to a possible pun, but the Kanji here are essentially “Hymn” and “Holy” (詠聖).

Tractus is a form of Versicle sung in the Roman Catholic Church after the Graduale between the Epistle and the Gospel. It is named because it is played when the bible is carried from one side to the other of the church during the Mass.

Note: The Sanctus is a hymn from Catholic liturgy, and it may go as far back as the year 200 in North Africa. The most recent Roman Missal has it as:

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

While the original Greek appears to have been:

As far as puns go:

“Sanctus is Latin for “holy”, a few “sansei” include that meaning “approval/support” and that meaning “production”, the kanji here are “praise” and “holy”

Note: “In paradisum” is an antiphon (a short chant) from the traditional Latin liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church’s Requem Mass.
