Ok… This was unexpected but a nice surprise.
– Rush’s Cyber Dragon has been outdated for a while (what an irony), but it has solid foundations that could be improved with more support (especially with more Monsters that acquire the “Cyber Dragon” name on the Field or in the GY)
– Rush’s Harpie, on the other hand, has been doing well in the current Meta. It’s not as strong as it was before, but it holds its own well. Now it remains to be seen if they will continue to support the Maximum strategy of the Deck or if it will be a complement.
In any case, the month of March 2025 is covered for Rush Duels. Which means that a Pack focused on the latest GO RUSH’s cards (like a Megaroad Pack 3) should come out in May or June.
Based on the set name, Overload Fusion will likely be in this set but function as Miracle Fusion does, placing materials from the field or GY on the bottom of the Deck.
I suspect Chimeratech Overdragon and a new variant will be introduced into this set with this Deck emphasizing setting both up.
With Harpies, it is clear the Maximums will be supported somehow and we may get new retrains of each sister but I doubt we will get new Maximum pieces. Likely new Spells/Traps designed to facilitate going into the Maximum easier.
How about TCG and OCG?? These themes are popular yet they don’t make Cyber Dragon/Harpie structure decks
They just made a cydra structure WDYM
The OCG just released a tournament grade “Tactical Try Deck” and just released Clockwork Knight and a new off-brand Fusion for Cyber Dragon in the OCG, alongside support for Live Twin and Eldlich.
The two games have different targets and aims.
There are leaks going around that the three Tactical Try decks – one of which is CyDra – will get new cards in ALIN.
@GHOSTRICK142 I mean new card support by making them a structure deck. Tactical for Cydra did not have new Cydra named support to date… The new ones are not named as such. I get that they work fine but still…
@NeoArkadia I totally understand that they have different plans… I am just a real fan of Harpies and Cyber Dragons and it’s just a personal take that they deserve to get enough support/treatment, even if it’s slightly less than what DM and Blue-Eyes usually get… If you know what I mean…
It’s funny to think that Red-Eyes and Harpie are the two DM Decks that have received the most support in Rush Duels.
Blue-Eyes and Dark Magician have lagged behind in that regard. Even Gaia without extra support is still a viable option in Rush Duels.
I want them to be supported so much in TCG/OCG. It’s always DM and Blue Eyes
Agreed, red-eyes is actually PLAYABLE, and GOOD in rush duels. meanwhile in the ocg…
Tcg/ocg Red eyes pale in comparison to rush, since its strat is all over the place. If rush red eyes are given more support I’m pretty sure they’d be better.
I hope that the harpie strategy will introduce new L and R pieces like what we saw with Dynarmix. Harpie is the perfect deck for this idea since the entire decks gimmick is a variety of monsters treated as “Harpie Lady”.
Maybe a new trio made from the Rush original designs or even use it as an excuse to use the designs for things like Queen and Channeler!
Unlike Dynamix, the sisters are too iconic to be replaced and are clones or replications of the original.
You can’t have other Harpies replacing the duo, nor can you make them adorn different clothing or weapons because they have to be a mirror replication.
I suspect instead we will have new retrains of each sister and a possible retrain of the OG Harpie Lady Sisters.
That’s silly. Just because they can have a variation doesn’t make the original stop being prominent. Pretending that legacy prevents them from experimenting is a pretty close-minded thought process especially with a format willing to buck expected limitations as often as Rush does.
“Quimeratech”
Ok, cydra will have semi-generic fusions, will come super poly effect too?
Harpie Lady are the very first archetypes and yet they are so neglected in the OCG/TCG. Stop giving nostalgia support only to Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes. Focus on other iconic monsters, like Harpie Ladies and Toons
Rush is sticking with the first two series to attract older casual and players who quit the original game due to their complexity and price. Many older archetypes had low power ceilings that would do better under the Rush rules and mechanics. Rush is also a chance to introduce new concepts such as Contact Fusion that can rectify the mistakes from the original cards in such a way that the main format cannot. Eg Contact Fusion being treated as a Fusion Summon and benefiting from the infinite Normal Summon rules and countless cards that can draw into your Deck lets Neos run better as an actual strategy here.
Only Rush duel cared for them at least for now, and overhauled their strategy… How I hope the OG games cared for them too as much as with other archetypes
Here was me hoping we would get the Ritual Extra Transcend Pack announcement tonight but we got two Structures instead.
Clearly going for more legacy support to get as many people from the main format to get into Rush.
This also likely means future sets (presumably the one after Galactica of Eternity) will have cards for them both. Less possible but not remote is a cross promotion with Duel Links that will release a few of the cards early via a Structure Deck or bonus cards.
CyDra will likely be Fusion focused and Harpie will likely cater in on the Maximum trio and new retrains of the sisters. (I doubt we’ll get a new Maximum or new parts for their existing Maximum though.)
Nice to see more Harpies. I wonder what will they have.
