Fun card. Enough to see play? I think not
It only works on Normal Summons, and unfortunately you can’t use this card with the Summoned Skull dominant fusions, but at least it is interruption and there is no Level restriction on the opponent’s monsters. Since Effect monsters are almost every card in the game this card works against a lot of Decks and may even stop them mid combo.
I love how name don’t try with gratuitous engrish and instead just use proper Japanese for black dragon.
Good reference, fun effect, probably not worth running over the staples though.
Kind of wild that people saying a book of moon handrip isn’t good even in rush format. I understand not working with the 2/4 fusions that can use summon skull is a little lame but it works with entry swarm and black skull dragon still at the very least
I would also say that it is a bit generic by not specifying that Level 7 FIRE and DARK Dragon Monsters can be used.
However, I think the main problems with this Trap Card are the following.
– It only works if your Opponent Normal Summons… in a Meta where many Decks Special Summons and like to bring a lot of Fusion Monsters.
– It only affects Effect Monsters that were Normal Summoned, meaning it cannot affect Normal Monsters or Effect Monsters that were Special Summoned (even though it doesn’t appear, there are Decks focused on Normal Monsters that are Meta)
– It requires you to have a Level 7 DARK and FIRE Dragon Monster. While Level 7 has an advantage over the other Levels, it is still a high Requirement to activate a Trap Card.
Traps that require you to control a face-up monster as part of activation can be a huge liability in terms of consistency. It’s the same with traps that only activate on normal summon.
It’s not a bad card, per se, but there will be matchups highly unfavorable to it, so it feels like less of a main deck in that sense.
