These name changes are so unnecessary

konami never “changes” the name, fan translators just get the translation wrong
Not a big deal but annoying nonetheless. Some of these are just stupid… A “Sanct” and a “tract” ? These aren’t even real words….
I believe Desirae doesn’t exist in latin… Dies Irae was the only correct translation.
That’s not the end of the world but it’s getting stupid…
“sanct” and “tract” are both words. it’d take you less than ten seconds to google that. i am convinced your family tree is a wreath, and your first kiss was with the hospital floor.
Sanct means Holly, and Tract means area

Tract does in fact mean area, but it’s absolutely the same as a tractus which is a type of christian music (2 seconds of googling)…
Also you are all missing that this archetype is based on sacred music, hence the “requiem” , “sequence”, “dies Irae” etc…
While most of the times trad changes don’t matter, this time it’s just missing the mark.

Yeah, the changes are awkward. Complain away.
Sanct is not a full word… Period. It’s found in other words but can’t be taken on its own, while a Sanctus has a clear definition in church music.
For tract, I didn’t know this definition existed but it doesn’t change the fact that the card wasn’t referring to that but to a “psalmus tractus” which is a sung psalm, and it can actually also be translated into tract. So my bad, I was wrong on this one, but still none of you knew what it was referring to.
Also please refrain from answering if you don’t actually care about these matters. I don’t care about being wrong but insulting people about Yu-Gi-Oh card traductions is ridiculous.

While she enables the Fiendsmith engine (probably unintentionally), on her own she’s just kinda… gimmicky I guess. All the Fiendsmith’s will probably be shortprint and in the £40-£100 range anyway so it doesn’t change much

Konami is so weird. Gimmick Puppet, Madolche, and Light and Darkness are budget but Fiendsmith and especially White Witch are deliberately priced higher.
Pet Deckers and Anime fans get to roll in luxury while meta slaves are forced to carry the burden. Sounds like a win to me.
