The tcg cobra skill card being generic reptile support is not reassuring. I don’t see any venom skills in dls either. Makes me think venom support is blacklisted. Gouki were already over bloated while Vrains was still airing!

Are people still pretending that they care about Venoms? Their 6 or so cards were all bad and their boss monsters that were just marginally more playable were more useful in generic reptile piles and some gimmickly alt-win OTK memes.
The “Venom support” you wish for will be all new deck with word “Venom” stapled on it.
Same with Umbrals that for most part were just generic Rank 4 engine number 28472856283 and Malicevorous that were the same but for Rank 2. They don’t have any interesting, engaging, mechanically deep gameplay so any new support will just be completely new deck that maybe will play well with one old card.

You send Tidal as cost to apply Tidal’s effect on discarding itself, which is a generic Foolish Burial.
That said, Chasmatis itself isn’t generic, but if you’re splashing a Dragon Ruler engine it might aswell be.
It’s not generic. It looks like it from a simpletons pov. You’re going to play a Dragon Ruler deck because those XYZ need Rank 7 Dragon Rulers. Not generic R/L7s or the Baby Rulers… If you’re using this as a ln engine you’re going to be wasting your time. Like playing Ryzeal+X when Pure Ryzeal is more efficient and better performing.
Chasmatis can actually dump any monster in the game by dumping Tidal and copy Tidal’s discard effect while bypass the cost. The same thing applied to the other rulers’ discard effect, dump Tempest to search any main deck dragons ever, dump Blaster to pop a card, dump Redox to monster reborn. All while being a quick effect.
It’s not generic. it needs 2 lv7 Dragons.

I just noticed that this pack comes out 3 days before the Year of the Dragon officially ends. I guess Konami wanted to milk š„ every list bit of that juice and end it with a bang with new support for one of the most broken Dragon š archtypes in the game.

I figured that they’d eventually make LIGHT and DARK Dragon Rulers, considering we’ve waited a while to get the LIGHT and DARK Elemental Lords. And instead of making them Level 7 main deck monsters like most would have expected, they’re Xyz instead; this is one case where breaking an established pattern is for the best, since doing the same thing as the other Dragon Rulers when we know full well how they impacted the game wouldn’t be the smartest idea.
I certainly wasn’t expecting an “ultimate” Dragon Ruler either (yet another case where Konami has to fallback to using LIGHT as the “core” Attribute because DIVINE is exclusive to the Egyptian Gods). Maybe Elemental Lords can get their own “ultimate” monster? Hmm…

I wish they’d make support babies for the Attribute Reptiles. It would be nice if 2025 had a heavier focus on reptile decks in general.

Never got the hype behind dragon rule mirror. You’d see someone make a mistake(s) and it had no impact the game’s outcome. I’m trying to think of a quad-attribute thing that had yet to ruin its inherent novelty by branching out to light/dark and I got nothing. Like Koa’ki Meiru, rulers were more interesting as individual pieces than tied together.
HOLD UP!!! Konami revealed the LIGHT and DARK Dragon Rulers and they are XYZ, people seem to have forgotten we got an XYZ Dragon Ruler earlier this year and it was FIRE, āBlaze, Supreme Ruler of All Dragonsā. While this is not explicitly a Dragon Ruler it seems to be an upgrade of Blaster, which means it is quite possible EARTH, WATER, and WIND could get the same treatment.
I meanā¦ is anybody surprised? After Blaze, I feel like this was the natural evolution for it. I wanted to make this deck already, so the og rulers at 3, plus this? Iām making this for sure!
I think they should link the charmers with the dragon rulers as their familiars and do a retrain of the charmers making them search their respective ruler and the spell/trap they use and some contact fusions that are a mix of elements like tidal and tempest making a fusion monster based on a huge Tropical storm or blaster and redox making a huge dragon ruler of volcanic disaster which nukes everything and applies burn damage or linking off a ruler and their charmer which could equip onto them like how you do it with Charles to make an upgraded charmer as an end board piece. Please rate the concept
Letting you get two Dragon Rulers back proves they’re harmless. That’s why they were Rares all the way back in LTGY.
Only thing that’s missing is that the Disaster should have had an effect to treat it as all attributes attached to it as material.
Thatās more of a Hydarive thing than a Dragon Ruler one, the whole Multi-Attribute from materials was Hydariveās shtick in the anime after all
