The Walking Dead deck.

Strategic Summary:
Welcome to the 2nd CDP focused on bringing together a type-centric strategy, this time taking on the Zombies! The Zombie Type has quite the powerful generic support cards commonly found across a lot of different builds, from Uni-Zombie and Gozuki for milling the Zombies you need to Shiranui Solitaire and Mezuki for Special Summoning the Zombies you want. It should be no surprise that so many different Zombie themes can band together quite effectively into a single deck. At this build’s core is Zombie World, a Field Spell that turns all monsters on the Field and GY into Zombies. Its primary purpose is to enable its support cards, including both Doomking Baledroch and Glow-Up Bloom, but it also gives the deck a wicked interaction with Rivalry of Warlords, potentially shutting down the opponent from playing monsters much at all!
As for the supporting themes, let’s do a quick rundown. Vendread throws Scar of the Vendread, Vendread Core into the ring, letting you extend into even more Zombie monsters to allow for more Link Material for your higher ranked Zombies, and their associated support Spells in Vendread Nights and Vendread Charge gives you more ways to pitch pesky Zombies that you draw into that just want to live their best lives in the GY. The Shiranui offers a small engine, adding Solitaire (to summon Uni-Zombie) as well as the combination of Shiranui Spiritmaster and Shiranui Style Swallow’s Slash for destruction purposes. Then there’s the Eldlich engine, offering Eldlich the Golden Lord and Eldlixir of Scarlet Sanguine, giving you removal, recovery, and Special Summoning. It also brings the big boss of the deck, Eldlich the Mad Golden Lord, a Fusion that’s indestructible and can steal an opponent’s monster!
Enabling this Fusion isn’t easy, but that’s where the Ghost Fusion enters the fray. With Ghost Fusion, a Fusion Spell that can banish a Zombie from the deck under the right conditions, as well as Ghost Sleeper, the Underworld Princess to tutor it, you’ll have access to your Mad Lord as well as the new Duke of Demise (YGOrg Translation). This monster debuted in the recent Animation Chronicle set, and it gives you an additional Normal Summon, plus it can be banished from the GY to recover a Level 4 or higher Zombie from your GY. The other new Zombie support card to make its debut here is Spirit Illusion (YGOrg Translation), an Equip Spell that offers access to your Fusion Monsters or a Doppleganger Token that duplicates the ATK of a high-leveled Zombie you control!
The rest of this deck is all about accessing any of the generic Extra Deck tools that the Zombies love to enable. Yuki-Onna, the Absolute Zero Mayakashi serves as the LINK-4 big boss, giving you effect negation and attack reduction. The Zombie Vampire leverages the monsters you steal from your opponent to turn into even more milling. And Skeletal Dragon Felgrand rounds out the day with multiple disruptive effects from the Synchro front. Altogether, this deck uses Zombies of every Extra Deck color to swarm the opponent and defeat them… doesn’t that sound fun?

A bit disappointed that this had Vendread in the title but there’s only a couple Vendread cards included
I understand Vendread Scar being there to search Charge but what’s the point of Core without any of the ritual monsters? Is it just another extender?
Hi there! Sorry about the disappointment, but in a mashup like this, there isnt a lot of room for a full Vendread lineup. As far as Core, exactly, it’s another Zombie extender that can trigger Changshi or the Shiranuis.
Interestingly, it lose to Branded, but beats Gem Knights and Horus decks respectively. I think it brick abit, against Branded. Hence why it lose to Branded lol. And Branded are rogue at best these days lol.
I’m surprised that there’s no mention of new flying ship link, but I guess it’s too new to be in this article.
Yeah this build was finalized well before the new Link ship. I actually already have a second Zombie profile scheduled that doesn’t use it either, but ill definitely want to build something around Mary, cause it’s so cool.
I’ve had some luck(ish) coming up with this kind of deck (I have, like 12+ different decks in the works, because I like deckbuilding around archetypes I like), but I lack knowledge on what the best cards to use to fully achieve it. So, Quincy, I wish to see what you come up with. I’ve been calling this deck “Mirror of Izanami” for reasons, but I would like to see you make a “Mikanko Con-troll” deck.
Mikanko already reflects attack damage, the “con-troll” part comes from including cards that reflect or redirect everything else, from what monsters your opponent attacks, the targets for cards they play or targets for monster effects. Whittle down their LP while you benefit from their plays rather then letting them get the upper hand
This gives me straight up bakura vibes the deck looks amazing
