Let’s showcase another IRL deck of mine!

Strategic Summary:

Welcome back for another Creative Deck Profile, and this time I’m showcasing a build that I’ve been piloting IRL! The theme is simple – have three distinct avenues to win the duel unless your opponent has the right cards to shut down all of your options, as each engine offers significant advantage off of a 1 or 1.5 card combo. Let’s start with the simplest – Yubel. In an ideal world without interruption, this engine begins with just a sole copy of Nightmare Throne (or Set Rotation), then ends on an omni-negate in Varudras, the Final Bringer of the End Times, I:P Masquerena, Phantom of Yubel, and protection offered by Nightmare Pain. Sure, we live in a game with tons of interuption, but that’s a lot of power from just the first combo string.

The second combo string revolves around the Hecahands, with the combo starting with The Hidden Hecahands, Hecahands Ibtel, or Nightmare Apprentice. Either way, this can lead to a S/T negate from Yad’al-Hecahands, a R8NK Xyz Summon and mill-4 from The Zombie Vampire, a potential hand rip with Hecahands Breus, then a potential Extra Deck rip with Hecahands Xeno, and if you’re lucky, you may even be able to mill 5 additional from both players with Pilgrim Reaper, with the right mills and/or initial hand. The third combo string revolves around Diabellstar the Black Witch and/or WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils, as this leads down an Azamina combo route. This path leads you to an omni-negate from Azamina Ilia Silvia, an omni-negate from Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, a draw from WANTED, and potentially a Sinful Spoils of Slumber – Morrian to flip a Special Summoned monster face-down, just for good measure.

So, you met the individual components, now imagine those endboard pieces stacking on top of one another, even if you only have 2 of the 3 engines. If you do the math, Nightmare Throne plus WANTED gets you all the benefits of both the Yubel and Azamina engines, up to and including 3 omni-negates, a monster negate, and a Quick Effect to Link Summon. That board is certainly not unbeatable, but it’s the layers of unexpectedness, the engine upon engine you can turn to, that all lead down the road to success. And if you draw into monsters you would have rather searched or summoned out of the deck, it’s actually no big deal – between Apprentice, Diabellstar, Forbidden Droplet, Nightmare Pain, and Deception of the Sinful Spoils, you will certainly have ways to even put those to use.
