Ever try a modern Volcanic build without Scattershot?

Strategic Summary:
Today’s CDP is all about exploring the new Volcanic support debuting in DP28, the FIRE Duelist Pack! What better way to do that by bucking tradition and throwing out the three copies of Volcanic Scattershot that were previously seen as mandatory for the archetype. Anyways, let’s talk about the new cards, and I’m going to start with Volcanic Emperor (YGOrg Translation). This is the archetype’s new boss, a Level 8 Pyro that Special Summons itself from the hand or GY by banishing 3 Pyro monsters or 1 Blaze Accelerator card from your Field or GY. When you do, Emperor burns the opponent for 500 damage per banished Pyro monster, then it tutors your choice of Volcanic Trap Card! Speaking of new Traps, there are two: Volcanic Inferno (YGOrg Translation) is a Continuous Trap that gives you the ability to negate the effect of an activated monster on the field, and Volcanic Emission (YGOrg Translation) can Special Summon any Volcanic monster from your Deck or burn the opponent equal to the original ATK of a Pyro monster on the field, but the damage is halved if you target one you control. As you can tell, the identity of the Volcanic theme is still burning strong with all the effect damage running rampant through these new cards.
Moving along to the consistency options, the new Volcanic theme is supported by Volcanic Trooper (YGOrg Translation), which tutors any Volcanic card on summon, Fire Ejection, which mills any Pyro monster to the GY to burn the opponent or give them a Bomb Token, and a new Level 1 Volcanic monster, Volcanic Rimfire (YGOrg Translation). This last option is my favorite, as whenever it is sent to your GY, it can be banished to send another Volcanic monster to the GY instead, such as your Emperor. Alternatively, when it is sent to the GY, you can banish a Blaze Accelerator card from your GY to place a new one from your Deck on your field. This is important, as the new Volcanic Blaze Accelerator (YGOrg Translation) has a steep activation requirement. This new Continuous Spell is activated by sending a copy of the OG Blaze Accelerator to the GY, but once you do, you can Special Summon a Volcanic monster from your hand once per turn, as well as mill a Level 1 Pyro monster to destroy an opponent’s monster. This can be used with Rimfire or Volcanic Shell, so choose wisely!
Rounding out the build today is two additional themes that enhance the ability of the Volcanic archetype to burn for damage and stall out the duel to guarantee victory by burn damage. The Charmer archetype covers all the attributes by now, but in particular, we’re focusing on the new Hiita the Fire Channeler (YGOrg Translation), as well as Awakening of the Possessed – Greater Inari Fire. Greater Inari Fire is unique in that it can be inherently Special Summoned from your deck by sending any FIRE monster and a face-up Spellcaster to the GY. While this can be covered by Hiita or Familiar-Possessed – Hiita, you can also turn to Relinquished Anima in a pinch. Greater Inari also burns the opponent for even more effect damage, plus it can tutor Spiritual Fire Art – Kurenai when sent to the GY, for even more effect damage. Finally, the Charmer side of the deck can rely upon Spirit Charmers to grab the cards you need, as well as have yet another way to get a Volcanic Shell to the GY to tutor another. On the Dogmatika front, Dogmatika Eccelesia, the Virtuous is joined by Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted, as well as a copy of Dogmatika Punishment, just to add a bit more powah to the deck, especially since you might need that extra oompf to hold off a strong opponent until you can go for a burn play. Or you can just rely on Greater Inari yet again, using a Dogmatika monster as material. Burn away the opponent with the help of the Volcanic, Charmer, and Dogmatika archetypes – no Scattershot required!
