When two lore themes combine into one deck… the Aurora emerges!

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another hybrid Creative Deck Profile, and today we’re featuring one of my favorite archetypes, the Ursarctic. This WATER theme of Beast and Beast-Warrior monsters features dueling core mechanics – their Main Deck monsters can Special Summon themselves from the hand by tributing a Level 7 or higher monster, during either player’s turn. The Level 7s improve consistency, like Ursarctic Mikpolar which tutors an Ursarctic Monster when Special Summoned, while the Level 8s are Tuners that provide disruption, like Ursarctic Megapolar which destroys an opponent’s S/T. This is the crux of the theme’s second unique mechanic, that they Synchro Summon by subtracting the Tuner and non-Tuner’s level, like Mega and Mik Polar turning into Ursarctic Polar Star. Polar Star is your primary way of accessing the in-theme boss of Ursarctic Serpentrion, a Level 7 Synchro that negates the effects of monsters without a Level, Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. Combine that with the effect granted by Polar Star to prevent the activation of effects of monsters with a Level, Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, and you have a great control element paired with an aggressive deck.
What makes my build unique is that I’m combining this theme with the Drytron LIGHT/Machine archetype, a theme that is not known for its ability to play well with others. This is primarily due to Drytron Fafnir, a Field Spell that tutors a Drytron Spell on activation, such as Ursarctic Drytron. That’s right, this theme has crossover support, and both Ultimate Bright Knight Ursatron Alpha and Ultimate Flagship Ursatron both contribute to improved consistency within the deck. I’ve gone beyond this minimal Drytron engine though, as Drytron Nu II is also featured alongside both Drytron Meteonis DA Draconids and Drytron Meteonis Draconids as high-powered Ritual Monsters that can swoop in out of nowhere. In a pinch, they both can be tributed for an Ursarctic Summon, but they still pose a real threat regardless. As for other things that can double as tribute, Raviel, Lord of Phantasms – Shimmering Scraper serves as the Sacred Beast representative in that role, especially since it can be added back to hand for re-use. The Ursarctic strategy also pairs well with Opening of the Spirit Gates, allowing you to recover Ursarctic Radiation for even more than 7 free draws in a turn, once you board a Level 10 monster.
Now all of these themes at play are well and good, but you know what else I thought I needed? Another theme, and that’s where Yubel comes in. You see, Nightmare Throne can be an impactful Field Spell, destroying Spirit of Yubel from your deck on activation. When you do, Spirit summons the OG Yubel to your board. This doesn’t do much on its own, but it has three goals in this build. First, it is a Level 10 to enable Spirit Gates, plus it is a Fiend with 0 ATK (for Spirit Gates). Secondly, it is a Level 10 monster that can be tributed by Ursarctic Polari to Special Summon a free Ursarctic back from the GY. Third and finally, this combo leads to Phantom of Yubel, a Level 9 Fusion that offers even more disruption to your endboard and protection for your plays against monster-based hand-traps. While the title of this deck certainly is a mouthful, its playstyle isn’t, so be sure to take the world by a storm by combining all of these themes together into one star-studded strategy!

That sounds like one of the more crazier “we got an answer to everything” kinda build
Pretty cool tbh.
Glad you like it, it’s one of my favorite decks that I’ve been trying to build towards IRL… still need another 2 copies of Nightmare Throne lol.
I would like to recommend a White forest Magistus deck, seeing as spoon is a light spellcaster, and can on its own, get U access to 2 level 4, a spell mill and possible access to fusions via Alister.
I personally use it with WF to get 4 lv4s for Alembert to search judgment of the pharaoh. (Using lacrima of light- vere magic to mill the copy of unity/yu-jo)
It’s hyper consistent (with 4 different combo starters (the WF monsters and spell) and sets up an OTK next turn with Alembert and Double-attacking prime heart)
See what U can cook with it.
And if things go south, Alister can also get U access to Invoked plays (e.g Mechaba)
You should try purrely yummy, all of the purrely spells via ss purelyly, add my friend, add any, ss purely, turn 1 into anima and make cookie way, and yummy also can use ursarctic polar star to shut down ryzeal and maliss
