Creative Deck Profile: Unchained Fleur Z-ONE, ft. Sherry LeBlanc Support

Strategic Summary:

Today’s profile features Unchained front and center, as it can definitely help make the most of the new Sherry LeBlanc support recently revealed for DP25 and the Animation Chronicle sets. The Unchained archetype features destruction in all of its forms, as every card in the archetype triggers when destroyed outside of Unchained Abomination. Each of their Spell/Trap support cards Special Summon an Unchained monster from the deck when they are destroyed while set, such as Escape of the Unchained or Abomination’s Prison. This all sets up for the two Unchained Souls main deck monsters: Abominable Unchained Soul that can destroy even more cards, and Unchained Soul of Disaster that lets you Link summon with an opponent’s monster. These options unlock the core Link monsters of the theme, offering even more disruption of your opponent’s monsters. But today’s profile doesn’t just look at Unchained, it also involves a small number of Sherry support cards that attempt to bridge the gab between her necro Support and Z-ONE support.

Sage de Fleur (YGOrg Translation) is a newly revealed Spellcaster that can Special Summon itself from the hand, destroying one monster on each field in the process. Also, whenever it is sent to the GY, you can tutor a Level 1 Plant from your deck. In my case, I’ve chosen Aromage Laurel, since it can serve as a generic extender to get more monsters onto the board for Link Summons. Obviously this destruction effect benefits the Unchained, but the best use of their destruction effects comes in the form of a new Field Spell: Soul Binding Gate. Whenever a monster is summoned during the Main Phase, if you have Z-ONE in your GY and more LP than its attack, that monster is destroyed and both players lose 800. As you will see in the first duel, this can loop quite effectively through all of your Unchained monsters, bringing the opponent into kill range quite easily. Between that and Z-ONE‘s synergy with the Unchained, what more could you ask for? Unlock the gates of destruction with the Unchained!
