Fairies and Fiends; where have I seen them together before…

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for another CDP for one of my longtime favorite archetypes, and today I’m re-showcasing the Trickstar on my channel in a competitive fashion! The Trickstar archetype has long been known for its ability to board multiple monsters on the field with minimal investment, whether you turn to Trickstar Candina or Trickstar Light Stage to grab the second monster you need. Or, you may know Trickstar better for its Trickstar Reincarnation combo with Droll & Lock Bird to banish the opponent’s entire hand. But did you know that it is possible to set that up, and more, with only a few cards? That’s the premise of today’s deck – run a minimal Trickstar engine to facilitate the Reincarnation combo, use the free bodies to fuel powerful Link Summons, then back all of that up with an endboard of D/D/D Wave High King Caesar and your favorite Fiendsmith bodies.
So why does this build work over other Fiendsmith variants? First, the Trickstar have a defined gameplan that can leverage the Normal Summon, but doesn’t necessarily have to. With the ability of Trickstar Aqua Angel, Trickstar Hoodie, and Trickstar Lilybell to Special Summon themselves, even if you draw your copy of Lacrima the Crimson Tears and have to Normal Summon her, you still can perform Trickstar combos. Secondly, the Trickstar consistency cards are not locked to once per turn – If you open multiple copies of Light Stage, you still can use multiple copies of Light Stage. This is different than other comparable engines like the Primite, where multiple Lordly Lodes do absolutely nothing for you. Lastly, the Trickstar engine does something completely unique to the current format – it gives you additional information about the duel. Once you use Aqua Angel for a Link Summon, it forces the opponent to reveal their hand. This gives you perfect knowledge about the gamestate, allowing you to pick the precise combo route to have the most impact. As a final accoldate, this combination also gets to run Stained Glass of Light & Dark, since it combines Fairies and Fiends!
