Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for today’s CDP, completing this past week’s focus on taking a competitive ‘meta’ archetype and giving it a unique spin. The Synchron archetype is known for its ability to enable a ridiculous amount of Synchro Summons, mostly led by the effect of Junk Speeder. This Level 5 Synchro monster Special Summons as many Synchron Tuners from your deck with different levels, giving you an entire field of possibilities. Whether it is immediately summoning Red Supernova Dragon or bringing out Stardust Dragon and enabling a string of Synchro Summons with the help of Stardust Illumination and Stardust Trail, this deck has Synchro Summoning covered. This build even shines brighter with the addition of Assault Synchron (YGOrg Translation), a new Level 2 Tuner that can Special Summon itself from the hand… plus another neat effect I’ll get into later. The Synchron theme also is extremely consistent – with 3 copies of Tuning, the existence of Junk Converter, the recent Synchro Overtake, and the new On Your Mark, Get Set, DUEL! (YGOrg Translation), this deck is ready to explode at full speed.
Now there’s a second half to this build that fills a major gap – more Special Summonable non-Tuners, in the form of the Bystial monsters. The Bystial archetype contains a variety of Level 6 Dragons that can banish a LIGHT or DARK from either GY to Special Summon themselves from the hand – isn’t it convenient that Junk Synchron and Stardust Synchron meet that criteria? Whether it is Bystial Magnamhut or Bystial Baldrake (YGOrg Translation), the fun never stops and can even give you draws with the help of Branded Regained. But there’s one more important synergy here – and that’s with Branded Beast, the other Bystial support card in this build. While you control a Bystial monster, you can tribute a Dragon during the Main Phase to destroy an opponent’s card. This may not seem like all that special of an effect, but take into account the second effect of Assault Synchron. While it is in your GY, when a Dragon Synchro Monster is Tributed or banished, Assault can be banished to Special Summon the Tributed Dragon back to your field. While this obviously works with Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon (YGOrg Translation) and Stardust itself, my favorite combo is to negate something with Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, then tribute it away for Branded Beast, then immediately bring it back to the field with Assault Synchron with yet another Monster effect negation at the ready! Assault your opponent at high speeds with the Synchron Warriors!
