Ptolemaeus is free… But how useful in 2022?

Strategic Summary:
Welcome back for today’s Creative Deck Profile, featuring the Tellarknight archetype. This archetype of primarily LIGHT Warriors has always been known for its ability to control the game through the use of heavy backrow in the form of Continuous Trap Cards. In particular, Fiendish Chain, Call of the Haunted, and Crackdown can be used repeatedly to disrupt the opponent while advancing you towards victory, all due to the effect of Stellarknight Triverr. Whenever Triverr is Xyz Summoned, all other cards on the field return to the hand, including those Counter Traps which you can re-use later. On the other hand, you can also look to Stellarknight Delteros, another 3-material Rank 4 monster that prevents your opponent from activating cards or effects when you Summon. If you don’t like investing 3 materials for the Xyz Summon of either of these monsters, don’t worry – the theme’s one DARK monster, Darktellarknight Batlamyus, can be used to cheat out a LIGHT Tellarknight monster from your Extra Deck by detaching 1 material and discarding a card. Or you can go back to the O.G. Tellarknight ‘Cheat’ Xyz monster, Tellarknight Ptolemaeus, which can detach 3 materials to Special Summon any non-Number Rank 5 Xyz monster from your Extra Deck. In here, I’m using two options – Stellarknight Constellar Diamond, which shuts down DARK Monster Effects and prevents milling, or Constellar Pleiades, which can bounce a threat back to hand.
Enough about your Extra Deck options, let’s talk about the Main Deck. Satellarknight Deneb is the primary star in your constellation, tutoring another Tellarknight monster on summon, while Satellarknight Unukalhai sends 1 from your Deck to the GY on summon. Satellarknight Vega allows you to Special Summon another Tellarknight monster from your hand on Summon, and Satellarknight Altair Special Summons another from your GY. Supporting all of these on-summon effects, I’m running a FIRE Warrior engine headlined by Fire Flint Lady and “Infernoble Arms – Durendal”, as that gives you even more ways to get Tellarknight monsters out of your hand and kick off a Batlamyus combo! Finally, with an array of Counter Traps from Solemn Judgement and Solemn Strike to the theme’s Stellarnova Alpha, your opponent will be stopped dead on arrival. I also am teching in 3 copies of Expendable Dai here, as they functionally serve a similar role to Stellarnova, just it can be used to destroy any card rather than negate a card’s activation or summon. Let the stars, satellites, and wyrm align with the Tellarknight archetypes!
